  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So my wife got be a xikar ex lighter for Christmas. I purged the lighter and filled with xikar fuel. The lighter lights maybe 10% of the time and when it does there is a tiny sof flame like maybe a half inch. like lighting an ice cold bic. Any ideas What's wrong and how to fix outside of sensing it in?

There is a tiny Phillips head screw on the wheel that once you remove the wheel you can reposition the wheel to turn it up more. If I had the screw driver to do so I would show you. You basically have to reposition the wheel to allow it to get to a setting that allows more fuel to flow before it stops turning.

If you aren't comfortable with that then you can either take it to a shop and they may be able to fix it, or you'll have to send it back unfortunately.

I got one of these for Christmas and thought it would have been shipped empty, but I've lit and touched up 3-cigars with no refill needed, yet. Weird, huh?

Sorry that happened but glad it worked out. That is some great advice and probably much easier than taking it back to a store, etc. Even though you dont have to send it back, it might be helpful if you let Xikar know by sending them an email at their website. The more they hear these things, the better they can address issues that may come up on a particular lighter, cutter, etc. They can back track the problem to the factory, etc to make necessary adjustments for future production.

In any regards, you wife is a keeper!!! Happy Holidays!!!:ccool:
