Dr. Xikar
The Knife Doctor
Yes I am! And proud to be.
Xikar Cutter? Owned 3, now own 1. I had the Xi1 in Black for a while, but then one of my father's friends gave me an Xi3 in beechwood -His wife made him quit puffing- So I gave one of my campus friends the Xi1 for his birthday. Recently I purchased a Xi3 in Amboina and bombed TheGreekOne with my Beechwood one. All of them cut like hot knives through warm butter. Absolutely loved them. Some of you may hate me for saying this, but I have a Palio, and I have my Xikar... I prefer the Xikar. They both cut as cleanly as eachother, but the action of the Xikar works better for me, the grip cut, as opposed to finger-guillotines.
Xikar Lighters? Well, I have an Axia for windy days or thick ring gauges. The double jets work a serious treat on those both, and the ergonomics are excellent... It's a beautiful tool, no doubt. I have a Crossover for indoors or windless days when I want a torch. The Flower jet is fantastic. As a single jet, it is easy on the butane, and the flower effect makes it wider for better toasts and lights. Plus the style makes it very hand-comfy. Lastly, as of today, I have a Xikar Exodus (Recently renamed the Xikar EX). The flame is NOT a soft flame, but it is NOT a torch. It's more soft flame than torch, but it's definitely jet-powered. When it's lit and you turn it sideways, the flame still stays (for the most part) straight out from the nozzle like a torch, but it burns much cooler than a torch... I love this thing. The windproof is a sweet idea (if somewhat ineffective, because wind buffets still the flame... But it does a great job of keeping errant gusts from putting it out suddenly), and it has just enough "torch" to keep it from flickering, but it is more soft flame than anything. It's excellent at toasting the toe, and the lights, as I was told, are smooth and wonderful.
I may sound like a sales rep, or a product pusher... But I'm really just a supremely satisfied customer who wanted to give a firm, public pat on the back to a company that's always treated me well.
Sorry for the repetition, and for going on so long... What is the point of this thread? To brag, of course. Look at all my cool toys! I love Xikar stuff! It's top notch all the way, and the customer service is fan-freakin-tastic.
Cheers,
Jeremy
