Beginning January 1st, regulations in Switzerland were enacted that increased by orders of magnitude the fines a vendor would have to pay if they were caught inaccurately describing the contents of packages on their Customs Declaration form.

As a result, Swiss habanos vendors have been forced to write "cigars" on the Customs Declaration form...which seems to have significantly increased seizures during the past month or two...

Quite true. Best try vendors in other countries for a while.

I know a guy who slipped 4 past the "goalie" in the last two weeks. One pkg said humidor acc. the other said cigars....so he said.

I know a guy who's gonna keep taking his chances until they stop the policy of replacing.

The ones I've seen were clearly marked "cigars" and they came through fine.
