  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Ok, so I was wondering if any one has the inserts that you can get for the Zippo lighters. I am thinking about getting this Zippo to keep for the long haul and be my go to: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003DA2MQY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

and then also buy a soft flam and torch insert so that it uses butane and I can swap out the inserts depending on if I am inside or outside:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049K2TR4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A2CXIDXPR1SRQR
and
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003IRNUQI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A1UAD3GC6ZP026

If you do have the inserts, how are they working for you and do you have any other recommendations? Also if any one has this lighter what do you think of it. Thanks for any input.

I have a z-plus somewhere that failed within a few days of me buying it. Never got around to returning it. Was bummed though because when it worked it was cool as hell. I wonder where I left that thing?

i have one around here somewhere. five years of HEAVY use and it still works. absolutely would recommend the z-plus.

if it were me, go with the torch. move the heat of the torch away from the smoke to keep from killing it, but there is no helping a soft flame in wind. FWIW

I bought a double flame z-plus and its stuck in my lighter, tried massaging it out with a knife but it damaged the Zippo. Worked great whilst it had gas in it, just don't chance putting it in a limited edition like I did. (90th anniversary Harley)

Zplus in harley zippo. Been in use for a few years. Mine however seems to run better on cheap ronson fuel than it does on 3x or 5x filtered fuel.

I sell a lot of the Z Plus inserts, they are great!
So they are still being made? I was told awhile back that zippo sued and the zplus wasnt being made anymore. They kinda got hard to find for awhile, at least around here, and the price on amazon shot up to about 15 a piece when they were running 10-12.

Love my zippo and insert

VERY cool lighter! I've had many inserts over the years, both Zplus torches and Thunderbird (made by Vector, I think) soft flames. All have worked fine for a year or two and then crapped out. Since they are so inexpensive, I don't mind replacing them periodically.
