Time for another update!
So where have I been?
mostly home renovations. We've had flooring done (partially) - hired that out - need to fix some of it - good thing he was cheap.
planning a fencing replacement outside, have two exterior doors getting replaced (we've done two on our own, these two are bigger, no thanks)
Our pool is getting the full renovation it needs. started first week of April - 3-4 week estimate. Here we are about to finish up month 2. Main (aka entire) culprit has been weather.
The renovation covers the pool deck and the pool itself. The deck is ~2200 sq ft of concrete. The pool is 50x20 - 45000 gallon gunite/plaster.
Demolition of the deck was to take 1 day. It took four (broke their jackhammer and their jackhammer skidsteer attachment) - they found 12+ inch voids underneath AND 16+ inch thick sections of concrete. At that point my yard is now a lot of dirt and nothing else.
So pool guy got in to work three days later than anticipated (which isn't great because our contractor has a few jobs going at once and slots the various trades in based on schedule).
And then as the pool guy gets going the rain starts. And it hasn't stopped. We'll get 2-3 days of dry in a row at most.
So pool guy finally got through all of his demolition/removal - got tile re-installed, plumbing re-installed, coping re-installed.
As that point the concrete needs to go down - because he's not going to plaster when that much mess will end up in the pool.
Welp - rain, rain and more rain. We've had a literal mud pit. Can't walk in it, etc. Guys kept trying to get out to start laying drainage out (one of the big previous problems is the drainage was either non-existent or pure ass (or a combination of both). They finally got drainage laid out - more rain - which then raised all of the drainage piping out of the dirt.
Today was another attempt at progress! Re-buried the piping, worked on more concrete forms, got some rebar mesh down (there will be full rebar too).
Shortly after they finished for the day we got two hours of straight thunderstorms. FUN TIMES!
Also - I just got back from the old stomping grounds (western NY) - we were up there for the last week for a nephew's wedding.
