I have several cutters as most of us do. I gave up on “cheap” cutters. I recommend to any new cigar smoker to get a quality cutter. My current cutter collection consists of 4 Xikar, 3 Colibri, a Palio cutter and two cigar punches. I have a couple lighters with punches on them. I also have an unknown brand cigar scissors they suck so i don’t use them.
I keep a cheap guillotine cutter in my truck and wife’s car for the rare occasion of an unplanned cigar. My truck cutter disappeared. I purchased a Vertigo Big Dady. I’m really surprised by the quality of this cheap cutter. The blades are not loose and they seem very sharp. I’ve cut about 10 cigars with it so far. Cuts clean and smooth.
I don’t know how many cigars to expect a premium cutter to last I’ve never worn one out. I’ve had several cheap cutters over the years last ~20 cigars. My guess is the vertigo cutter will last a few hundred. I’ve ordered 3 more of them. I’m replacing the cutters in both my truck and wife’s car. The other two are going to be stored. I am really impressed and I’m going to start recommending this cutter to new cigar smokers .
