Ok, now that the younger Manning has his second ring and second MVP award, can he be compared to his older brother? And lets throw Brady in the mix, how does he compare too the Manning brothers?

Here is my opinion.

Eli comes in at #3, but damned close to #2 Brady. Eli has had a decent team around him for most of his career. When the Giants got hot, and with the benefit of a few amazing catches, Eli is good enough to win you a Superbowl. Not knocking him, he is a top 5 quarterback, but he does need somke help. He is not a god.

Brady comes in at #2. Yeah I know he has all those rings, and I put a big value on getting those rings, so thats what I put him at #2. Brady has benefited from having the best "team" around him in NFL history. He has been blessed with having huge talent around him, and he is a winner. combine those 2, and you get a bunch of rings.

Peyton Manning comes in at #1. Why, because compared to the Giants and the Pats, his teams "sucked" for most of his career. He made the colts into the 2nd best team of the decade, and he had little help. You can not compare the patriot team or even the giants team to what Peyton had to play with. The Colt teams were terrible

Put Peyton on the Giants, and the Giants are better.
Put Peyton on the Pats, and the Pats are better.

I think you pretty much summed it up perfectly, I agree. I wonder what the future holds for Peyton, if he can bounce back from the injury??

I personally have Eli number 2 behind Brady. I would have loved to see Eli's Giants take on the Pats when Brady was in his prime. I still think Peyton is a great QB but his lack of playoff success has him number 3. With Brady being number 1.

Peyton in the regular season may be #1, but in the post season he isn't top 5 in my book. The Colts had a great offensive line and great receivers. If it weren't for Peyton sucking in the playoffs they would have had more than 1 superbowl win.

Eli is a winner on the road in the playoffs. If he keeps it up he will be #1.

Brady can't win it all without cheating.

I think Aaron Rodgers is a better QB than all three. Time will tell.

So Brady wasn't in his prime when Eli beat him the first time?

Makes you wonder if Brady ever won a SB.

They have not won anything since they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Go back and watch Sundays game and you see a domination on the G-mens part. I guess that is what happens when you don't know what the defense is calling.

Interesting that a guy puts Rogers up there and knocks Peyton's playoffs after Rodgers' Packers needed the Heimlich in the playoffs this year when they dropped the NFC to guess who? Eli and the Giants. Anyway..giving the option of the 3 I'd break em down like this:
Peyton 1-only ring against the team his head coached had mapped (my Bears), but the guy rewrote the passing game into the modern offense happy flag football you see today. And he did it with no running game and a Defense that could never play from behind.
Brady 2- He has the rings, he has records, he has the tuck rule and perhaps the heart of officials the league over, and he is an amazing QB. What really hurts him is no ring after the Cassel season.
Eli 3- He can move up for sure. The giants have a good D and 3 solid young WR's plus they can run the ball. Formula says more rings.

Yep, Eli was better than Rodgers in ONE GAME. Over the season Rodgers had a 122.5 QB rating and Eli had 92.9. Over their careers Rodgers has a rating of 104.1 and Eli's is 82.1. Peyton's career is 94.9 and last season he played was 91.9, which over a longer period of time is quite impressive (and no longer in his prime), but his playoff record of 9-10 knocks him down for me. Eli's playoff record of 8-3 is quite impressive and Rodgers at 4-2 is no slouch. I just think based on what they've shown so far, Rodgers is the better QB.

Also Brady and Peyton suck under pressure while Rodgers is good under pressure and Eli doesn't even know the meaning of pressure. That guy against the 49ers was amazing.

And Drew Brees is in the running as well. I'd probably rank him just under Rodgers.

Id have to humbly disagree.....just take a look at the receivers brady has had to work with. I can only think of Moss right now as an elite receiver that he's had. Welker was dumped and Brady has made him a top receiver, Branch thought he was elite left - sucked came back and is decent again. Payton has always had a top receiving core to work with and Eli to me has gotten pretty fortunate in his 2 sb's. First gift with the stickum on Tyrees helmet, then this year id give him marginally more credit, but overall Eli is pretty inconsistant. He even admited this year the touchdown that almost hit mayo in the head he didn't see him there. dude led the league in int's last year. I have to see more from him.

A: haven't read every response in this post and I've had a very strong 22oz beer on an empty stomach, so excuse my love for Eli.

B: I've wathced eli the last 8 years, he's taken years off my life. I love him. Yes, you get a lot of " WTF was he thinking". You also get a lot of those throws like the one he made to Mario on Sunday. In the 4th qt with the game on the line I want no one else. He's the BEST. He's beaten Brady twice, he's like 8-1 on the ROAD in the PLAYOFFS. They beat 2 # 1's and a #2 on the road this year. The #2 had the best D in the league and basically killed the poor guy the entire game. Yet, he never changed. That's a special trait if you ask me. Yes I'm biased. Yes letting is awesome, yes Brady is great, yes rodgers can do it all, yes brees is an animal. I will take Eli any day, and yes he's proven he can handle the NY media which is insane.

Well to answer the topic question Peyton was(i think he's done) the better quarterback. Way i rank them is Peyton, Brady, Eli. although i would put brees and rogers ahead of Eli. This will be debated forever because how do you define great quarterback, is it championships, statistics, some intangible. Hell Jim Kelly wins 2 of those 4 SB he's in the top 5 all time disscussion he's a HOF but people always knock him for not winning the big one, he only took his team to the show 4 straight years and I knock Coach Leavy game plan for the losses. Think this how history will judge peyton, great QB, will be first ballot HOF but only won 1 SB.

Keep in mind that last season Smith hurt his knee and went on IR both Nicks and Manningham were injured for points, Domenick Hixon was on IR as was Cruz I think Barden may have been as well. I remember one game that the starting receivers were Manningham (our #3) Derek Hagan and Duke Calhoun. Not to mention and this is fact there were double digit picks where these guys were tipping balls into the air right into defenders arms. Did Eli have a great season last year? NO but stats don't tell the full story.
