I shave with a mercur 38c safety razor. Once ya get past the initial cost of a good razor, brush and shave soap/cream it becomes extremely cheap to shave. 30 high quality de razors for like 10$. They last about a week or 2.

This program is pretty sweet. I pay $6 every two months for 4 four blade razors. I find this to be a lot easier and cheaper than buying new namebrand blades at the store.
