Blind Review B

The Specs
Manufactured: UNK
Length/Gauge: 6.5” x 42
Wrapper/Filler: UNK
Price: UNK

Appearance & Construction
Beautiful dark brown wrapper, Semi-box pressed. A few minor veins and seams but very well constructed. Aroma is deep, rich tobacco. Cut cleanly with V cutter, draw is spot on.
Grade: A

Flavor
Pre light draw is the same rich tobacco flavor as the aroma was, with the addition of a slight floral background. First light gives me a strong black pepper flavor with a very long finish. Great draw, lots of thick chewy smoke and the foot is smoking away when I set it down.

About ½” in and the ash is splitting, so I tap it off, burn line is straight and it does not seem to be tunneling have any other burn issues.

Finishing up the 1st 3rd and I’m getting a strong dark roast coffee flavor with some spice still on the finish.

Well into the 2nd 3rd and spice is ramping up with a dark chocolate note as well, kind of like one of those 90% dark chocolate bars with spice, with some dark chocolate bitterness on the finish.

Starting the final 3rd when the stick goes out suddenly. Relit and getting bitter chocolate and maybe a hint of caramel/toffee, but it’s not quite there. Stick gets really, really bitter and when it goes out a 2nd time I let it go.
Grade: C

Value
For 2/3rd I really enjoyed this stick, not a ton of different flavors, but a nice depth for what was there; after that it got to be too much of a good thing I guess.
Grade: UNK

Final Thoughts
Wouldn’t be a buy for me, but I think many brothers would like this profile.
Final Overall Grade: C

Guess
I’m thinking Corojo wrapper, maybe something from the Alec Bradley line, the size is off but it would be similar to Prensado.

Cigar B Review

Looks to be 6.5x44 or 6.5x42

Dark Maduro wrapper. Somewhat toothy, moderate veins. Good construction. Semi box pressed.

Pre-light draw is perfect. Dark roasted coffee. Slight spice note

First Third: Upon lighting, I'm greeted with a blast of black pepper. I also noticed a dark bittersweet baker's chocolate flavor, a slight herbal note & some toasted wood. Medium plus in body.

Second Third: Black pepper/spice is still the predominant flavor. The bitter chocolate is becoming more intense. A nutty note enters the fray. The burn is wavy & needs touched up

Third Third: The spice mellowed out, but the bitterness is becoming intense/undesirable. I put it down with about two inches left.

Overall: I thought this cigar was decent for the first two thirds, but the bitterness really ramped up towards the end.

Rating: I'd pass on this cigar. 80-81

Guess: I'm gonna say from a bundle of some sort. Not horrible, but definitely not something I'd seek out.

Are you reviewing cigars unknown to you entirely? Or do you have a way to find out afterwards? If so, no final conclusion to tell if you guess was correct for us? Just curious and unsure how exactly this works.

Cigar B:

6.5X44 or 42

Nice dark brown wrapper, solid construction, single cap, semi-box press shape, like a panini sandwich, good looking foot.

Floral on the aroma and the pre-light draw.

Salt and pepper gray ash.

Tiight draw that opened up rather nicely towards the end.

1st 3rd: A little pepper, deep floral flavors, lots more pepper on the retrohale, nice creamy underbelly that leads to some nice roasted coffee flavors.

2nd 3rd: The retrohale is what makes this cigar, turning from creamy coffee to some nice espresso flavors, some herbs coming through, the flavor changes are subtle but fantastic.

3rd 3rd: The floral and pepper are coming on strong, this is the first time I can say for sure that I am getting dome fruit--kind of a sour fruit--flavors in a cigar, dark coffee overtones, like your'e at the market and lean into the French Roast bin.

Last bit: The fruit and floral come on even stronger, can't stop retrohaling.

Overall: Love it. You have to slow down here, even when you think you are going slow, go slower, you will be rewarded. Burn is even and steady. Ash this a lot or you will wear it.

Origin: I have no idea, mixed probably. Reminds me of an Alec Bradley too but the wrapper is dryer than the Prensados I've tried and the cap is not as well done.

I think this is a budget sleeper. I hope this is a budget sleeper.

Cigar "B"

PL-Looks good (toothy, looks hairy) and smells of sweet tobacco

1st – BIG pepper blast and draws well, on the retro extra peppery. I didn’t get any floral tones but the coffee & chocolate are there, pepper is dominant. Mouth is feeling the pepper a lot! Ash is dark and does not hold well. Burn is perfect med + in strength

2nd – More coffee & dark chocolate/espresso pepper has gone away but not when you retro hale, smoke is creamy good! Burn got a bit wavy but corrected itself. Chocolate is more prominent as a burnt coffee starts to become stronger. Still a med +

3rd – Still the same dark chocolate & burnt coffee, strength has picked up as there is no spice at all. It started to get more a bitter coffee. It started to get hot for me and super bitter when I put it down.

Overall not bad…a solid B. For what it is, no clue.

A lot of folks are getting bitterness towards the end of this one.

I may have shipped them to you a little fresh.
They aren't Rott, and I have had them and have been very pleased.

I suggest for those that are left to slow down.
Hopefully that will help out.

Good to know. Plan on smoking mine tomorrow after work. Baring any more bad weather.

Mine became a bit bitter at points but as soon as I slowed down the bitterness departed and I was rewarded. Fantastic stick.

Don't feel rushed!

I was planning on 1 per week , so we are right on schedule in my mind!
Not at all. I was going to do it Saturday, but I got behind getting stuff done around the house and then we were late getting to a wedding. Then today it rained and has been windy most all day. No fun when you smoke outside :disappoin.
