Four volunteer firefighters shot 2 dead when responding to a fire at a home. Police believe it was a trap. This is about 30 min from where I live. Please, keep these four heroes and their families in your thoughts this holiday. This world is getting to be very crazy. Time to slow it down a notch and be grateful for what we have. Thinking of these families, the Newtown tragedy, and all of you on this Christmas Eve. Be easy.

BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

got this news via buff text this morning, i am volly ems on long island. terrible terrible thing to happen. when you are sizing up a scene for safety, a shooter should never be a concern.

I can't tell u how disgusted I am at this. Our job is hard enough at the begining of any scene. Fire, ems, entrapment, water rescue, high angle. Then you have to worry about this shit. Our country has no morals anymore. I pray for your families tonight brothers.
