  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So getting started in pipes. I find i haven't had much time to finish a full pipe. Would it be better to half pack the pipe if i can get the draw right or can i leave the unfinished tobacco in the pipe for later say tomorrow. This whole working opposite shifts and different days off with my fiancee in order to not have to deal with childcare is killing me. She doesn't find it that bad(because she works part time at night.) My days start at 4am and end at 11pm between all my obligations. Sorry for micro rant in middle there. I just want to make time for myself. Even if it is 30 minutes or so.

Thanks guys.

while some can totally walk away from a bowl and return to it a day later,i would say pack it smaller. nice thing about a pipe, you can dial it in to your needs at that moment.

and good luck. your schedule sounds screwed, buddy, and i know what a stressor that can be. o)

If I know I won't have time to finish I will pack the bowl half full. I figure why waste tobacco? I have found that leaving a smoked pipe for too long is a bad thing too. An hour or two maybe but any longer and the moisture at the bottom just gets gross and it tastes bad to me.

I actually have the perfect pipe for you. It's a small bowl, perfect for a 30-40 minute smoke. It's a very nice Ben Wade that I don't smoke very often if at all. Shoot me a PM. I'm sure we can work something out in trade.

The good thing about pipe vs cigar is that you determine how much you want to smoke. If you only have a short time pack your bowl like normal just cut the measurements in half ( diff people pack their bowls differently). You can pack it for a 15 minute smoke if you so please. I would have to agree with some of the posters letting wet, all ready smoked baccy in ya pipe for more than a couple hours...it gets pretty bitey! Good Luck Bro!

Can I hit you up in a day or two. My pm is rather busy with northern lights stuff.

Yeah just not the same. If I can get back to it an an hour or so fine but longer than that it's getting tossed for a new bowl.

You should have no problems with packing and smoking half a bowl. Doing this will also help build cake at bottom of the bowl which will make the pipe smoke better.

I actually like going back to a bowl after a day or two, but i always put a pipe cleaner in it. I wouldn't try it with aromatics though they get kinda biter, but with frog i can smoke a bowl over 3 days when i smoke it during my drive to work.

+1 never gone 3 days on a bowl, but often 2 because my commuti is only about 15 minutes.
