Haven't heard from a member I purchased cigars from..

I was just curious how long would you guys generally wait before putting a fellow member on blast for not responding to you after you have sent payment for cigars? I understand that sometimes unforeseen events happen and people would be unable to ship or even reply to messages but how long would you wait.

Personally I would wait a day or two then send another PM. If after a few more days, I wouldn't put them on blast but maybe publicly say something in case someone may know what their deal is. Then after that feel free to take appropriate measures. I'd contact an Admin before blasting them though.

Not sure if my opinion follows BOTL protocol though

I would send the member a pm and an email. I would also let Eric or one of the other Admins or Moderators know. Not holding your end of an agreement is not allowed.

Straight up purchase; thing is the guy had all positive feedback and a member here for a few years.. I mean if they tell you they will try to ship the day after payment was sent and you dont hear from them after

I'd give it a week maybe he got put up in the hospital or had an out of state family emergency.

This sounds about right. I'm unsure on protocol myself. Im sure on of the Admins or Moderators will chime in for help. I would not endorse blasting anyone here either. If its a Sr member, then I'm sure there's good reason why they have not responded. But I'm a glass half full kinda guy.

It has only been 4 days; I sent payment Wednesday and was told that he would try to ship Thursday; I didn't hear anything or get any tracking info Thursday so I sent a pm Friday asking if he got held up or something, I didn't get a response; sent another pm Saturday again no response, sent a third pm still nothing, I did figure I'd give it a week but wasn't sure what I should do if I still get nothing..

Four days really isn't a long time. He might have already sent them, and just didn't give you any tracking info. Although communication is a key factor when involved in a transaction, the lack of a response could be due to a vacation or an emergency as many have stated. Hell, they might be in your mailbox tomorrow. If you haven't received your cigars or heard back from him in a few days, by all means contact a mod, but until then I'd just assume they are on their way. Just my two pennies.

I agree that 4 days isn't really a long wait but like you said communication is really key, I honestly didn't mind that they didn't ship the next day or the day after or even if they ship on Monday I just want to be informed; I mean that's what I would do.. Anyway l did plan on waiting a week and need some of you guys insight.

Generally my rule of thumb is "do the opposite of whatever that fucking Teach suggests" but, in this ONE AND ONLY INSTANCE, he has a point.

They were shipped Thursday. Apparently I never hit the send button for the PM I sent him. Was away for the weekend. I imagine they are there today. It's only been 3 days since the purchase.
