Blind Review: Ashton VSG

Size: Robusto

Smoke time: 4:37 pm - 5:38 pm

Appearance: Tan leather with some large veins

Pre light: Light faint sweet tobacco. Maybe a slight hint of thyme

1st Puff: Very light leather and pepper flavors with a slight sweetness

1st Third: Very mild and light flavors. It's almost hard to distinguish anything other than the faint leather and slight pepper.

2nd Third: The mild trend continued and the slight pepper that was round seemed to disappear. I even had a buddy take a couple puffs to see if maybe I was nose deaf, but he too could hardly taste any flavors. The construction is great. Burn is almost razor sharp and the ash holds for nearly a third.

Last Third: The cigar had no changes whatsoever from the start to the finish.

Final Thoughts: This cigar was a very mild cigar from start to finish. It displayed very good construction as it burnt evenly and slowly. I picked up relatively few flavors and could barely detect any nicotine. I wonder if this cigar would have been better smoked in the morning or mid morning on an empty stomach. I will say that I quickly ate some pizza before I smoked it because I did not want a repeat of the nicotine sweats like I had from the last blind review stick so that could have hampered my taste buds a little but overall this was a mild, one dimensional stick.

Score: 85

Thank you once again to mwlabel for providing me the opportunity to do these reviews.
