Okay so earlier in the week Anthony from Reinado Cigars asked me if I would like a Reinado G.E.R. to try. To which I of course said yes. He also threw one of these in. It is a 4x38 Rosado Habano, Nicaraguan Puro. I couldn't find anything written about strength but I'd say it's a mild to medium strength with a full flavor.
Pre light
The cigar smells like a Sweet aged tobacco, Humidor, and a hint of Tea the foot smells like more sweet aged tobacco. I'm getting excited this cigar smells amazing. The pre light draw is a little tight. Like drinking a milk shake nothing too hard but you can feel the resistance. It was about 50 min burn time. Lit at 8:48 and let it die at 9:39 because I don't have a nubber and it got too hot to hold.
1st 3rd
The cigar has a sharp burn, with a white tight ash that has a slight toothyness. On the draw I'm getting a nice sweet spice I can't identify, and what seems like a clove or all spice. I can't quite place it yet. Im getting a white pepper and cherry with a hint of that all spice on the retohail. The finish is flavorful and leaves a nice oily feel in your mouth and on your lips, but its short. Pretty much gone after about 20-30 seconds. The smoke is a nice thick white, but there's not tons of it. Smoke off the foot is minimal but a nice blue gray color. Solid ash fell right at the second 3rd.
2nd 3rd
In the second third this cigar really won me over. It picked up a really nice Espresso and some fruity floral notes. All of a sudden I'm getting heavy sweet fruit on the retro hail with peppery zing. I love the sweet and pepper combo. I'm loving this cigar at this point and don't want to put it down. Again the ash fell off just before the final third.
Final 3rd
The pepper is gone on retrohail, but the Cherry getting stronger on draw and retrohail as well. Floral on retrohail is also kicking up a notch. It's a nice combo. This stick would probably be amazing with a good cup of coffee. The strength stepped up to a mild medium from a mild. Smoke output is up. And there is a leather on finish. Also im getting a mild coolness on my lips? Lol. I dunno where it's coming from or why but it's nice. This is a great little stick.
Overall this is a complex little cigar and I see why cigar snob gave it a 92. I am willing to be a more experienced smoker will get even more out of this than I did. I could smoke this every morning with a cup of coffee for a long time and be content. I give it a 9 out of 10. If you haven't had one go grab a few, you won't regret it. And if you do you can always send them to me
