Max I blame you and a couple others for the Pappy craze. If you would of just kept your mouth shut!!!!! Guys like me would've never started drinking it. Oh wait..... Um that came out wrong..... Kind of a shame that our grandfather of pappy hasn't been able to pick one up.....

Eff that, Jaybuhls! I see what you're trying to do here... I'll find some, just need to wait for the dust to settle!

But to your point - I know. I've no one to blame but myself.

Edit: Also, thankfully, I've no one else to blame for this pic. I made good and damn sure I was wholly responsible.

Max, how do you think the different bottles from the Buffalo trace antique collections rank against pappy?

Here is a little update to the Pappy heist from our tv station today. Sheriff says they are getting closer to solving the crime. (we'll see)
Thanks for posting. But basically they are saying nothing has changed other than they interviewed most of the workers. I wonder if they truly "cleared" the principal or if they simply had to say so for now until they can prove anything...

Pretty much, I don't think they have a clue.

Where players go to play
Read a great article about it last week. As others have said it is regarded as the best American spirit out there and only released once a year. Now factor in the fact that it now has such a huge following and the 20 and 23 year availability is literally from the economic and supply need of the early 1990s. Did not have that big of a draw back then and no need to spend that much money trying to make and age as much as needed today. 20 years from now will be different and a lot more available...but unfortunately can't really rush this process. And for the record last year I knew a shop that had bottles readily available for a $200-$300 up charge....that guy was a douchebag....

You may call him a d-bag, but if I am a business owner selling a product and people are willing to pay those prices, why shouldn't I try to make as much off it as possible. If they are sitting on the shelves for a long time, then people aren't willing to pay the prices and he would have to bring the price down. I am not a business owner thou.

I've honestly never seen it in person while shopping. But, I've been lucky enough to have brothers here keep me in the loop and give me a heads up when they see it. And for that, I'm truly thankful

Well I just had a 15 blind and I prefer stagg if I catch a bottle cool to have It on the bar but not chasin it. I'm definitely not saying it's bad it's a great drink (I had it neat) but I wasn't wowed and then she told me what it was and I was like oh ok.

Even better than your reaction was your buddy Q saying, "It's good, but it's no George T." :)

Glad to have this taken off my list. I wasn't chasing but I would have been tempted to spend too much on some had a bottle fallen in my lap.

How hard to find is the Stagg? Havent seen it at any liquor stores near me...
In VA, Pappy is like a 3-4 year waiting list, Stagg is like a 2 year waiting list..... But stagg is more available on the secondary market than pappy. People still try to rip you off by charing 3x + msrp, sometimes i have seen it for only 2x msrp.... (I was lucky to have a friend from out of state help me with a bottle)

You might have better luck though because I know of a few people that were able to buy a bottle of stagg from the PA liqour website (have to be a PA resident).

Last year I went thru 2 bottles of Stagg and one PVW 15. I'd take the PVW 15 over the Stagg most days but won't pass up either.

I've never seen PWV on the shelves here in GA. About a month ago heading
back into the city I cruised around looking for liquor stores in the suburbs.
The store owner told me he was expecting two to 3 bottles and that he'd
hold one for me. I probably need to go back out there because I forgot to
email him what I was looking for.

I saw a bottle of Stagg and Thomas Handy at another liquor store, but that particular
store owner was reserving those bottles for his 'regulars'. This stuff is like getting your
hands on KBS in March. Hard to do unless you know in advance and keep
up with the allocations. JMHO...

Very.. Stores get very few bottles in... Usually 1-4ish random bottles of the entire BTAC collection... Big stores might get two+ cases but have fun on a few year wait list.. Btw these cases only hold 3 bottles.

Seems like each expression is only about 3,000 bottles strong each year.
