  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hello all. Sorry if this has been posted in the past but I'm having a difficult time with my search. I have been looking for pipe/cigar tobaccos that taste of campfire or cedar wood, my two favourite smells. So far my list of possible suspects consists of:

Nightcap
Royal Cajun Dark

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You have probably thought this already, but... anything with a cedar wrap will give you anywhere from some to a lot of cedar flavor.

I hadn't, but I suspected it. How would I go about do this for pipe tobacco? I'm only familiar with cedar wood used in cigar humidors and tubes.

Look for "fire-cured" as that should have that campfire flavor. I hate it personally, but others love it.

I'm primarily a Cigar smoker, and as such, I prefer the taste notes a good cigar has. That being said, in the last month I pulled out the old pipes in an effort to expand my experience and cut back on the HEAVY prices I was paying for my cigars. We all know premium pipe tobacco is pennys to the dollar compared to cigars. So I've been experimenting; And I've been looking for that Cigar like: woodsy, earth, cedar taste I enjoy in my sticks. So far I've discovered McClelland's Dominican Glory Maduro and Drew Estate's Meat Pie to be closest in experience. Enjoy.

Thank you all for the suggestions

Latakia is campfire to me. So Pirate Kake is tops for lat bombs
I can't pick out the different notes in Latakia yet. it's a little too subtle or complex for my palate. It just tastes like a foreign spice to me. I think I prefer English

also love latakia, the shortcut to mushrooms has a crazy amount of campfire/bbq flavor, the ruins of isengard in that line is less bbq and more campfire imo...both good tobaccos.
