Are you positive?

You are saying plugged in and turned on, the warmest you can set it is 64?

If that's for sure how it works I would not get that.

Most wine coolers don't go higher than that. Some do, but they get very pricey. The question is do you actually need the cooling component?

If not you're good to go.

If you do you can modify the setup. I'm on my phone and don't have the link, but it's basically a secondary thermostat connected to a electronic on/off. So the wine cooler plugs into that and turns the cooler on off as needed to maintain the temp you are looking for.

If you can, I would appreciate that link also.

Interesting, so far mine seems to only fluctuate 4 degrees without touching it. 66 most of the day up to 70.

Good to know I can go this route if the fluctuation becomes an issue. Kind of disappointed as I thought the cooler was already supposed to do that.

I'd like it to be as low maintenance as possible, meaning I could go on vacation during the summer for 3 weeks and not worry about temps going too low or high. That been said i don't mind doing modifications to have it at a 67-70, right now I can set it to 64 and it will go down to 63 for some reason it auto sets to 63 so I have to manually change it to 64 but few mins after that it changes to 63 again and temp lowers to 63, is getting annoying.

You need an etc. it basically shuts power on and off to control the temp you want. Not saying to buy at this link it's just the first one That came up in google. If you need help wiring it in, search in the storage threads

This is the component I was thinking of earlier. There are a number of BOTL'ers that use this with solid results.

I get the idea but im not familiar with how the board in the back of the cooler works or how I can make your temperature control work cooler cooling system from the cooler and ignore the one from the cooler. I probably don't make much sense but I'm thinking if there is a way to trick the cooler thermostat when is reading 63 make it think is more like 70 so that when it hits 71 the cooling system turns on.

Here's a prewired Unit - http://www.etcsupply.com/ranco-etc111000000-prewired-digital-temperature-controller-p-87.html?osCsid=c2e3f144a4b9c2fa47c37a65daf724fd

So you drill a hole through the back of the wineador to feed in the ETC probe. The ETC unit plugs into your wall and the Wineador into the ETC. Set the ETC to the temprature you want... let's say 68 degrees. If the temp reads higher the ETC will push power to the Wineador and then the cooling unit will kick on. When the ETC reaches the correct temp it will cut power to the Wineador.

I see what you mean, I would plug the ETC to the power with the probe inside the wineador and set the temp I want in the ETC then plug the actual power cable from humidor into ETC so that when ETC reads temps higher than 68 it will give power to wineador which will turn cooling system on, that sounds like a plan but I was thinking of something rigged within the wineador's board in the back so I can always have wineador turned on.

thanks for the info

Here are 2 pics of initial set up, put in some KL and water/spounge with my table humidor empty and open inside to start the seasoning process. Ordered some cabinets/shelfs from wineador.com and heartfelt beads. Let me know if I'm missing anything, I'll post more pics as parts arrive.

Looking good, make sure you have some good quality digital hygrometers for the final rig. I would run two in there.

Did you do anything to remove the plastic smell from inside? Also there's not much to season really... there's no cedar in there to absorb water. Also when you DO season the shelves keep the water in and the heartfelt/KL OUT ... you want the cedar to absorb the water not the silicon.

Lastly how much HF did you order?

Everything dscl said. Take everything out of there. If you didn't do any plastic scent removal, that's your first step (and second, third and forth as well)
Don't bother putting anything in there at all unless your putting in storage boxes, drawers & trays. When you put those in, then you're ready to season. If not, open her up and just let it continue to air out until you're ready to season/fill.

If the scent doesn't go away by just airing it out here is the method I have taken and recommend to others.

1. Wash the unit out with a combination of warm water and baking soda then rinse.
2. Let air dry
3. Wash the unit out with a combination of warm water and vinegar then rinse
4. Let air dry
5. STUFF the unit with crinkled up newspaper. Close and let sit for a few days

Any plastic smell should be LONG gone

And 6. Put activated carbon from the pet store fish filter aisle in shallow dishes (most surface area) inside and let run for a couple days.
