  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Post ur vote for the blend you most want to try and review. Reviews dont have to be pretty (I suck at reviews myself). Polling will be open for one week. Once the winner has been chosen then its up to each person to buy, trade, bomb, get bombed, swindle, bride etc., to get a sample of the chosen tobacco to try and post a review on this thread. Try to give the blend 3 bowls before posting a review. Javajunkie suggested this and I concur.

Note: the list of tobaccos will consist of one Aro, one Virginia, one English, and one Oriental. With substitutions and specials occasionally. Also I will not post a blend that is a HTF such as Pelican or Penzance.

Shortcut to Mushrooms is a Latakia blended with mushrooms. Can be found here on justforhim.com
http://justforhim.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=612

MacBaren Symphony is a Burley, Cavendish, Virginia blend and can be found at most online retailers I believe

Drew Estate Toasted Black Cavendish is a Cavendish Aromatic that can be found everywhere such as CI and Cigar.com

Hearth and Home Black House is a Black Cavendish, Kentucky, Latakia, Oriental/Turkish, Virginia English blend that can be found online at pipesandcigars.com among other places.

How about GL Pease Odyssey. I was going to buy some, but on my last order to get more samples, I opted for less English blends because that was almost all I was going to order. I decided to branch out to other stuff.
Good choice, remind me and I will put that on the March poll.

I am gonna go with Shortcut to Mushrooms. ;)
Hey hosh, how much do you plan on buying if you don't mind me asking? That's my choice and maybe we can split the cost or work something out?
I was only gonna buy a couple ounces. It looks like shipping is free from the site when you buy a couple ounces so to be fair I would say it would be better to get it from the site.

Edit- I may have spoke to soon....

Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...
If a baccy is chosen that's available in bulk (vs. tin) it may be beneficial to do a group buy as the cost usually drops dramatically when you start getting past half-pound or pound volumes. As long as the up-front savings is greater than the postage from person to person it may be worth looking in to...

Home and voted. I look forward to trying whatever wins. I was confused for a second and thought it actually contained mushrooms or mushroom powder in the blend lol. I've pulverized dried mushrooms before to put into burger meat with a port reduction sauce and I forget what cheese. Anyhow..... smoke on.

Great thread idea. I'm still getting into pipe tobaccos and am looking forward to learning more about them. I dont usually marry my tobacco but if you say so... :togetherl
