  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Yeah I thought it turned out alright. I didn't make the reamer that you and I talked about. I just cut a pice of metal and made a scraper to clean it out.

I love GBDs. Soak the bowl with cotton balls and isopropyl alcohol and u can use a pocket knife, GENTLY, if u have too. Softens the cake. It comes out like tar.

One of my Fav reamers.
Interesting reamer. I have not seen one like that. It looks like something I wouldn't mind having in my boot for protection. I have a Senior style reamer and have been pretty happy with it.

I would still be curious to see the piece of metal you used as you did a nice job. I tried using a pocket knife on a pipe early on and while I didn't destroy the pipe, I know I could have done a lot less damage with a proper reamer.

Guy at a local shop uses one like a surgeon uses a scalpel. So I had to have one. They aren't made anymore. Have to find it on the secondary market.

When my dad gave me his pipe stuff there were some drill bits that he made for reamers
Nice - those are the kinds of things that have a ton of personal value. Have you tried using one yet? I'm curious how well they work. I wouldn't use one in a power drill but as a manual reamer they could probably cut through the cake quite well.
