Hey Ya'll,
I have been on the site for about a month and i haven't made it over to this thread yet but i decided i needed to tonight, for anyone that hasn't already met me my name is Matt, i have been smoking cigars for about 10 years and i just started on pipes about a month ago.
Why did i start pipes? well the wife's grandfather used to smoke a pipe and she missed the smell. she also doesn't like the smell of any cigar so to make her time outside with me more enjoyable she suggested i start piping. i thought about it for a few years but i knew it was a little more intensive than cigars and so avoided taking the plunge. well this last birthday she got me a pipe and a few tins of tobacco. i tried it and immensely enjoyed the pipe feel and flavor, so what did i do? ran out and hit every antique store i could find for a couple cool old pipes and did the same with Ebay as well as a few local shops. I got about 13 total, the basic tools, and a couple small tins of tobacco. I started to restore and clean the 9 estate pipes that were in good condition but cant be used then i had to pack them all away until we move in a couple days. i really enjoy it, the routine, the multitude of flavors and of course the pipes themselves.
i am so green in the pipe world its not funny but i intend to expand my use and knowledge with the help of you fine gents. cigars are my first love i must admit but pipes are definitely working into my rotation. thanks fro reading Gents. stay smokey brothers.
