  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Cake... nom, nom.

Well - its been a week and it's dried up nicely! The brick lightened up considerably from the almost black colour it took when I pulled it out of the mold. Chunks can be ripped off with no fear of any kind of mess.

It loads well and remarkably, burns pretty well. Really well actually. I was concerned that it would be too moist when I first pulled it out of the mold, but a week of sitting in a jar, and it's all good it seems.

I am not ready to do a review - My taste buds are a little fried tonight - I dropped the hot sauce into my dinner - was too hungry and too lazy to start again, so I just ate it lol.

But I will say this - smooth! Very smooth!

Anyway - just thought I would update - thanks for reading.

looks great, thats a nice looking little pipe too.
Thanks brother - and thanks (its Big Ben Barbados in case you didn't know).

I originally wanted all my pipes small and mobile - and I am very happy with the small pipes. Light, easy to carry. But you know how it goes. Now I am eyeing pipes with a bigger bowl coming in at under 1.4oz.

Good to know I dig it man. To be honest I am pretty much clueless as far as pipes and pipe tobacco is concerned. I still haven't ventured far enough down that rabbit hole. :)

Update:

Well this will more than likely be my final update on this thread, but I thought I would follow up and let you know that tonight I lit up some of the original blended blend, and then lit up some of the caked blend.

There is no question that the cake is smoother. No question. Once I get a grasp on what I really like with respect to tobacco's and begin to buy in bulk, I will absolutely press again.

Awesome. Seeing this has encouraged me to screw with my plugs I made last summer. I wanted to let them sit and age a bit since making them. Have fun with pressing your own, its a good time.
Thanks brother - it really is good times! Hope to see how your plugs work out!
