Let me know how you like that sweet tea.. I have been meaning to order with every order and haven't yet
I'm having some now. It's definitely misnamed in that the profile is deliciously tart and dry. I am enjoying it and think it would pair well with a sweet liquor like port, sherry or even a Sazerac. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1430165517.608616.jpg

It's an aromatic. I got my sample with 8oz of Northwoods. And I'll probably get another sample, because I ordered another 8oz of Northwoods on Saturday to take advantage of the sale's final day.
thank ya sir, My kids got me 8 oz. of northwoods for an event recently, I am good for a week or two:)

My new Tsuge pipe! Woot.

Holey Cow is this thing small though!! I mean I have seen hashish pipes bigger than this lol!! All the same I am super stoked. I love that I can place tobacco under the bowl to filter the smoke!

Picked up some Dunhill too. The 4 tin special thing:

Like I need any more tobacco lol... What can I say - $6.35 a tin. :)

BTW - there is no question my pipe is new - but it came in the vendors box and sleeve. Do new Tsuge pipes not come in their own boxes?

Afterthought # 2 - I wish Tsuge made pistols! The machining on this thing is stellar. The checkering is outstanding! All said and done, fit and finish is awesome.

Looks like the smokingpipes logo on the box in the background...
i do believe you are correct
Yup - smokingpipes. That's the box the pipe came in. Seemed odd that it didn't come in a Tsuge box?

Update - so I just took the pipe out for it's inaugural smoke. Packed the cavern below the bowl to filter, and loaded the bowl. Being it's so small, loading the bowl and packing it with my thumb was a bit of a challenge. Ok it was impossible lol. I overcame the challenge using my pinky rather than the thumb.

After the initial light, I noted you had to angle the tamper just right to gain entrance to the bowl. Once you figure it out, it isn't a big deal, but I thought I might have to go back into the house to get a tee. This thing is small - and I was beginning to wonder if it wasn't too small. But looking at it in the sunlight, I couldn't believe how attractive it is. I am glad I didn't get the smooth finish.

Settling in, I noted that the tobacco tasted fantastic! The draw was fantastic, and that the pipe is so light, that the clench was hardly noticeable. My love affair with this thing had begun in earnest.

It didn't take long before the pipe began to warm up, so I tamped the tobacco and noted that there wasn't much room left lol. But the tamp worked and the pipe cooled down still giving me the perfect amount of smoke. I began to drift into la-la land.

17 minutes after the initial light, I began to fuss with the last of it. The tobacco still tasted great, but I knew it was coming to an end. It was a great 17 or so minutes. I Love this pipe! I am guessing cubed flake or plugs will give me extra time with it, and I am already looking forward to a bowl of Pease's Gaslight in it. I am for sure taking this thing on my upcoming road trip! What a great little pipe.

When I went back into the house, I disassembled it ran a pipe cleaner through the stem. Hardly a thing to be collected. I took out the tobacco filter and noted that the top had been a little chared. The tobacco was moist - a lot more moist than when it went in. Clearly the system works. Not nearly as well as compared to a 6mm Sav filter though. But well enough.

If you like small pipes ... seek this one out. It's almost "toyish" what with it's ability to take apart and manipulate taste via packing the filter with different tobaccos (yet to be proven by me but this is what I am told). But that's half the fun and anything so well constructed toyish or not, is a pleasure to manipulate.

So I just wanted to update again lol. I decided to hit up that bowl of Gaslight sooner rather than later. What can I say lol - I am on vacation!

I bring it up because as I was packing the bowl, I noted I was packing it way too tightly. I hadn't rubbed out the Gaslight nearly enough and the large bits were making it nearly impossible to draw.

Rather than taking the tobacco out and rubbing it out even more and repacking - I crammed even more into it lol!! I packed that sucker tight! Tight I tell you :). Then I unscrewed the bowl from the base, flipped it over and took the poker on my tamer and poked two holes through the tobacco and reattached.

It's smoked like a CHAMP! And did so for over a half-hour.

The bowl is getting pretty hot but man, what a great option lol! What a great smoke lol! Truly - I am feeling like a kid with a new toy discovering that does way more than just look cool lol.

If this thing was meerschaum lined, every other pipe I had would become redundant lol.
