Chrome Ratchet handle tamper help?

So I've got this ratchet handle I think would make a cool tamper but not sure how to go about making the handle end. Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone have a metal cutting lathe?

Fits perfectly in my cobs!

Cut off with a cutoff wheel and grind the corners back to round.

Could even use a chop saw if cutoff wheel isn't available.

I can cut it easily and grind and polish it clean. Was thinking about having it milled down for a more comfortable finger grip. I'll cut it off today and see how it feela

I got it cut and rounded some today. But who woulda thought I'd actually have to work at work. Ugh. I'll get some pictures when I'm back at work tomorrow

Well I've picked at it and got it as good as I can get it with what I have to work with. Thinking about finding someone that can re-chrome it for me.
