What kind of glass is that, Bob (@btort)?
A cigar and whiskey blog that I follow called "Stogie on the Rocks" had a great review of this glass, he also pointed out one negative drawback with it. When you go to sip the whiskey you have to tip the glass back quite considerably, if not careful you can over-saturate your palate, and pour too much. I read elsewhere that some were tipping it back so much that they got surprised and swallowed it down the wrong tube LOL. I had that happen once when I first started and it wasn't fun, can't image what it would've been like with 120+ proof though, mine was luckily only 90.4. I love the concept of the Neat Glass but this drawback made me think twice about adding it to my small and limited collection. The search continues for me in adding a glass that will allow me to appreciate the higher proofed Barrel Proof bourbons out there.

After a 16 hour day, finishing off this Basil Hayden's is a nice treat!
#11 of 30
(it still counts as day 11 if I haven't gone to bed yet!)
have you tried Basil Hayden's neat or just with that Ice sphere? I'd be curious to see how the two compare as this might just be the lowest proofed small batch bourbon on the market (80 proof, which is the legal limit for Bourbon I reckon)

This can definitely be an issue with this glass. If you know this and are careful, it is easily avoided. Small price to pay when you consider the tasting benefits it offers. (IMHO)

Next time I'm out where Bourbon is taken seriously and served in higher quantities than Maker's Mark and Knob Creek; I will ask the barkeep if they stock the NEAT Glass, and give it a whirl...carefully though lol

Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...
What does this taste like? I love that bottle art but I see that it's not from Kentucky and I believe uses an uncommon distillation process in making Small Batch Bourbon.
I wasn't impressed.
But I'm a bit new to this, so I couldn't really tell you why. Just didn't really enjoy it as much as most.
