A friendly Friday discussion topic: in your opinion (or even better, in the opinion of a non-cigar-geek you know), which cigars have the best aroma or "room smell" after they are lit? And what is it that you/they like about it? Is it a particular wrapper, or something else?

I've always found it interesting when my wife or other non-smokers comment on a cigar as smelling good or bad. And recently I was listening to a podcast interview with Rafeal Nodal of Aging Room, where he claimed that he blended one of his cigars (the Boheme, I think) based entirely on the smell, trying to recreate what he remembered of the cigars his grandfather used to smoke in Cuba. Maybe a bit of a tall tale, but a neat idea nonetheless.

So, what cigars smell the best?

The one I'm going to smoke this evening with my feet up and a stiff drink.

This is a great question. It would be good to know some good choices that have the most enjoyable or least objectionable aroma for the times you have to smoke around non smokers.

Aged LGCs Mdo 2s. Aged Party 898Vs, 8 year old Mag 46s, HdM Epicure Especials, HVC La Rosa 520s all come to mind.
(Half the CC catalog with 5 years probably)

Yeah, the more I think about this, the more I realize that once we light up it is pretty much impossible to tell what someone who isn't smoking might think. So even then, I see many reviews that talk about room smell. Of the cigars you've smoked, which smelled really good? I've smoked a lot of cigars, but never really considered this. I will begin tonight!

Most people around me have enjoyed Drew Estates Java line. Only infused cigar I enjoy. The aroma is usually described as coffee/chocolate or mocha.
