I get to go to dinners & lunches at both my mom & dads sides of my family, my wife’s family, & a Friendsgiving. There’s ham, turkey, usually some form of wild game, dressing & giblet gravy, a buffet of casseroles & sides, & desserts at all of them & alcohol at my wife’s side & our Friendsgiving. Then we eat on the leftovers for several days after!!!

We have what nowadays is called the modern family. Couple stepmoms, stepdads, moms, dads, in-laws....you get the point.
Thanksgiving at our place starts with breakfast for half the kids that have other houses/ families to celebrate with.
Scrapple, homemade sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, home fries...so on.
Dinner usually consists of brined turkey in the oven, dressing, sweet potato casserole(I swear my wife's recipe is like crack!), mashed potatoes and another side or two TBD.
For the non turkey lovers we always have either home made lasagna, stuffed shells or baked ziti with garlic bread and this green stuff, AKA salad. Lots of leftovers.
I might take @Pennywise827 lead and smoke a bird. I've smoked a lot of pork but never a turkey.

@havana1 put a drip pan down...first one I did, my kids declared that was the only way they would eat Thanksgiving turkey. My wife made a seperate turkey inside for the first 6 years because she wanted gravy...well 2 years ago I went with a drip pan and we had both smoked gravy and non smoked...no one ate the nonsmoked turkey OR gravy.

It will be a smashing hit.
