I agree. If I was to purchase it would be more so of a conversation piece, not an ashtray. I'm sure back in its day it served as one though. The chips in the hat make it worth a lot less then $100. May be worth $25 just because it is probably one of a kind.
That's a really good tip. There's plenty of them around here. And I've seen a few second hand stores too. I always try to stop in when funds allow and even in my travels out and about too. You really never know what you'll find.Never thought to look at Goodwill! Great tip.
Don't just look for antique ash trays. Yard sale / Goodwill re-purposing for the cigar hobby is great. That's a really good tip. There's plenty of them around here. That probably would've been the last thing to use for an ashtray!!! But now that you mentioned it I guess it's more so thinking outside the box..Don't just look for antique ash trays. Yard sale / Goodwill re-purposing for the cigar hobby is great.
Some of the old time things like butter dish trays make a great cigar tray.
I got an old 70's ceramic soup spoon holder for $2, similar to below.
Excellent cigar service appliance I use all the time. Think about it.
Repurposed for a sharp ashtray!?And if you break your Glencairn....
Some thing tells me those weren't meant for cigars lolNow these may be worth an email -
