The album Warpaint by the LA band Warpaint. Saw them open for Depeche Mode a couple years ago. Very mesmerized by their music. Brilliant drums and bass playing in particular appeal to me.

Well, and four beautiful women too, but that’s beside the point.

I’m sure I haven’t listened to this since, maybe...ever. Loved “Friday Night in San Francisco” but after their follow-up, “Passion, Grace and Fire”, the long gap between recordings made me forget about them. Plus, I was really deep into my Hawaiian phase at the time so pretty sure I don’t have a copy of this in my collection.

Her voice reminds me of an old singer from the band Lone Justice - Maria McKee. Also some Kate Bush and Siouxie and the Banshees.
