Got a wild hair and went to the pawn shop around the corner from my house to look for an acoustic to add to my collection. Instead I found this burl top beauty for $50 I couldn’t say no to. This thing was professionally set up I can tell but then never played. I personally prefer the bolt on neck and this thing sounds great as is. I’m gonna swap to some humbucker sized P90s and swap the pots, jack, and switch, clean up the frets, and start to cause more hearing loss

I have a few dead spots on the fretboard if I have my action low where I like it. After my buddy gets back from NAMM we’ll see if a repair will work or if it needs a re-fret, but after all the electronics got replaced this thing goes from purr to growl and fills the single cut with P90 itch I’ve had for a long time.

I was wondering if there was something cheaper that would still perform well?

D/l box? Don’t know what that is..

She’s playing that prs acoustic electric with a Mike and a keyboard.
There are many combo amps out there for acoustics that have a channel for a mic. That’s what I would suggest. I’ll grab a link shortly

Amazing !!! Find !!! Oh yeah nice grab ! The finish is Boss !
If your happy with the neck yeah swap out the fret. Nice having the replacement option as well.
Nice clean work. I see the Vol / Ton for each humbucker. I imagine you're selecting with the switch.

If @Glassman hadn't of hit this thread .. I would have missed this . Congrats ! Reminds of my GoodWill find LP200 !

Thank you!! Yes I’m selecting with the switch. The Guitar Fetish Dream 90s sound incredible. I love the satin finish on the neck. I’ll probably replace all the frets for practice, my good buddy is a luthier that works for a boutique guitar manufacturer here and he’s gonna take me on as an apprentice.

Dude, do it. luthier ... they are like Sensei :ROFLMAO: (y)(y)We are not worthy !

I have two more builds done.
1 -Goodwill find - A $15 body , routed from blank, likely. With a Ibanez-inspired China neck. Whole thing was primer. No hardware except neck screws. For $15 , I was just going to stock the neck. But the kid's math and cuts were good so I took it all the way.
2- Finally got inspired on a direction for my 69 Teisco Tulip and got that wrapped up in January. That's likely been posted here before, but as a shell / husk.

@BrewinHooligan Looks great with those pickups. I've heard of those Guitar Fetish Dream 90's somewhere. I'll keep them in mind.
Now you got a spare set of humuckers for your next build
I have a stack of cigar boxes. Pretty sure I’m gonna start building some electric diddly bows with the spare parts I’ve been accumulating.

Lol. Get a board and do like Le Paul's first test build .. it was a bloody 2x4 LOL
As you probably know already, there's a big Cigar Box community out there. Plenty of forums. Wild stuff and some amazing players.

Oh yeah, I’ve been researching for a while. I’ve got some rough ideas what I’m going for and I’ll post pics along the way
