I'm not that new around here, but I'll play to get things going!!
1. I guess about 6 years now.
2. My brother in law got a club subscription from his wife and he wanted a smoking buddy.
3. Some cheap dark wrapper Perfecto they throw in those overpriced gift club samplers, and no sickness
4. 0-10 sticks a week, time, weather, and activity contributing
5. Lounge chair in the garage
6. Med-strong
7. I smoke as often as I can find time for, and here lately have become a real snob, much prefer to smoke better quality less often than smoking budget brands 2-3 times a day.
8. Smoked a Cohiba Siglo 4 with the guy working at a sales kiosk in Bermuda! Still chat with that guy today!
9. Most of what I smoke comes from online sites, or the nutjobs on here, though I do like to stop in and support my local every now and then.
10. When I light up a cigar, that becomes my focus, the disease pandemics, and media induced panic doesn't matter. It's just me and some tasty aged tobacco leaves going up in smoke! Also the brotherhood, and excuses to go new places to meet with guys from the forum! Have met many more guys from online than a straight guy ever should!

1. I have been smoking about 12 years.
2. While growing up my father used to smoke cigars all the time. I used to sit with him and watch his face and hear his description of the certain cigar he was smoking at the moment. Soon enough I started smoking alongside him and now we find any reason to just chill out and enjoy a good smoke.
3. First cigar I smoked was an Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Flor Fina: I got so lightheaded and swore I would never touch another one again. That didn't last too long.
4. I started off smoking maybe 1 to 2 cigars a week. I am now up to 1 a day, sometimes 2 a day on weekends. I usually smoke outside so if it's too cold or conditions aren't right I won't smoke for a few days at a time.
5. I mostly smoke in my patio.
6. I tend to enjoy medium to full bodied cigars. On occasion I will opt for the milder cigars, particularly a Connecticut wrapper.
7. Life is too short to smoke cheap cigars.
8. Best cigar I have ever had, despite the insane price tag is the Behike 54.
9. I usually buy my cigars online, particularly boxes. If the B&M has good prices on single sticks I will grab a few while I'm there.
10. What I enjoy most about smoking cigars is that provides you anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour and a half of relaxation whether you are alone or with a few of your closest friends. It allows you to escape whatever havoc is going on in the world and just enjoy being in the moment.

  1. How long have you been smoking cigars? My best guess is I started back in the late 90's
  2. Why did you start smoking cigars, what or who got you interested? I was already a cigarette smoker, and I think it was the aroma of a nearby cigar store (B&M)
  3. What was the first cigar you smoked, and did you get sick? No way I can remember but potentially it could have been a cohiba red dot, and I don't think I've ever gotten sick
  4. How often do you smoke? Currently 3-5 cigars a day but that has varied to as little as none for maybe around a 10 year period
  5. Where do you smoke most often? (a lounge, the car, your porch, etc.) Most are in my papasan chairs out on my screened patio but on vacation, at B&M's as well
  6. What flavor profile do you find you most enjoy? most CC's (favs are Bolivar, Partagas, Monte), and medium-strong - Strong Dominican (AF, LFD) and Nicaraguan (Oliva Padron)
  7. Tell me a little about how and what you smoke most often. Do you smoke premiums or bargain smokes? Chain-smoke Backwoods all day? Smoke a Padron Anniversary once a month? Usually Lunch, after work, and evening, but that can go up to 5-6 on a day off if I start smoking in the morning. Once in the past I used to inhale cigars, but I won't do that now, I do however retro almost every puff. Almost all I smoke is premium to ultra premium. I haven't found much of anything in a budget that I like to smoke regularly.
  8. What has been the best cigar you’ve smoked to date? This is relative, I'd probably have to say the "best" was the AF Opus X lost city, but many time smoking an awesome cigar (monte, PSD4, bolivar, Oliva MB3, Padron 1964 that cigar has seemed like the "best" until the next best. I don't think there has been a cigar that is so far ahead of what I just mentioned that it is the single "best" as it depends hugely on what I'm in the mood to smoke...
  9. Where do you get your cigars? (Online retailers, a local B&M, a friend, online forums, etc.) 99% online through the retailers that have the best prices, sales, deals, auctions, wherever I have to go
  10. What do you like most about smoking cigars? The relaxing quiet alone time and the nicotine

1. I’ve been smoking for about a year and a half.
2. It was freshman year of college and a couple of the good guys decided to go fishing at a lake in the middle of no where since my one friend was a huge fisherman so we went and he liked to smoke cigars fishing so he brought a few and at this point i has never smoked anything but always liked cigars so I lit up a victor Sinclair Classico and thought it was the best thing ever.
3. Victor Sinclair Classico
4. Normally 2-4 a week just depends on weather and how busy I am
5. At home it’s the back porch and at school it’s in one of the smoking areas we have.
6. Tend to favorite full bodied smokes but smoke anything medium full and like stronger CCs. Smoke 90%NC and 10%CC which I’m trying to change more this year.
7. I smoke anything from 5-10 dollars regularly it’s nice to find a budget tasty smoke and there’s some $10 sticks I love. Anything more expensive than that is a special treat.
8. Probably a RYJ Belicoso with some age on it
9. Mostly online retailers and online forums. I like to buy samplers and grab bags just because I like surprises and enjoy smoking a wide variety.

Post your answers below!
1. 17 ish years.
2. My Dad and James Hetfield. My models of Man when I was young. Hence the Avatar.
3. Cuban Romeo i Julieta Dad gave me when I was 16 and told me to save until I was of age. You already know how that went. Shared it with 3 friends so there wasn't enough to go around to get sick.
4. 4-6 per week on average.
5. In the car on the ride to or from work. Both when times are good.
6. Usually creamy and sweet notes a la Rocky #6 or 20th absent of the cedary/leathery notes but sometimes I JONES for the full-frontal cedary/leathery smack a la Oliva V.
7. Most often Fuentes, Patels, and my beloved Ashton VSG. Rocky, Carlito, and I seem to have similar opinions on what we like. Love Backwoods, Love Opus Xs. I smoke FEVERISHLY fast (Churchill down to 2 fingers in an hour) so lush draw is critical so I don't over puff/rare the stick, which I probably do almost always anyway. I'm a bad man in that regard. Any and all, always with a Coka-Cola.
8. Fuente Fuente Opus X in the year of our lord, 2004. All the flavor, all the body, no bite or prick on the tongue, draw like a straw. My friend Steve and myself In my back yard. He had to lie down, I burned my lips. Too good.
9. Local B&M if and when I can. Sometimes there is a screamer of a deal online and how could I not?
10. It's a moment when neither they nor I can get to me. A moment away is always welcome.

  1. Around a decade ago.
  2. I had quit cigarettes and wanted something I could occasionally indulge in without as great a risk. Plus cigars were tasty/meant to savor, rather than habitual/stinky.
  3. I want to say it was something horrid back in high school like a Phillies or a Swisher. But years later, the first "real" cigar i smoked i believe was either a Macanudo or an R&J, can't remember. Didn't get sick any of the times.
  4. Once or twice a week, on the weekends almost exclusively.
  5. Back patio table if the weather is nice. In the garage with the door open if it's rainy so I can watch the rain.
  6. Still learning what I like. I went from years of "mild/mellow only" now to where I'm gravitating to fuller flavor (albeit not necessarily "stronger") sticks. In other words...I'm craving strong flavors but nothing harsh or too jam-packed with nicotine.
  7. Went through a long "Ashton Only" phase but that was more out of familiarity than preference, though I still love them. I think now I'm in the mid-high end range maybe? I try to keep it under $10 a stick, but do enjoy getting a premium one every so often. I would prefer smoking good sticks less often than having a constant stream of cheapos.
  8. Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic. This was the first one that really made me go "damn" and kinda snapped me out of my Connecticut fraidy-cat comfort zone.
  9. Local B&M before the virus shit hit the fan. Now, mainly Fox. Their customer service is amazing. But it's just as well...the variety available online is beyond what i could get at B&Ms.
  10. Every smoke is an occasion. This is probably why I usually only smoke on weekends, save for the rare moments on weekday evenings when routine and necessity aren't running my life. I want that stick to be a full stop vacation from all the troubles and worries in my world. I want that smoke, and the usual accompanying drink in my hand, to be the only thing I'm concerned with for just a little while. All the other bullshit will still be there waiting when I'm done, but for that moment it can wait. Know what I mean?:D

  1. About 6-7 years
  2. Coworker knew I liked whiskey and bought me a cigar for christmas.
  3. It was a "Playboy" cigar. I did not get sick.
  4. 2 cigars a day 4-5 days a week.
  5. My place, usually in my computer room.
  6. Medium/full bodied that is is more on the leather and coffee notes.
  7. More recently been smoking only my own garage rolled cigars. When I do buy I usually go for niciraguan cigars. I usually go to my local shop and just ask the manager to recommend something. Love trying new things.
  8. La Patina Nicaraguan Puro.
  9. When I do buy them I get them from my local B&M
  10. Ive never felt stressed while smoking. Also the exploration of flavors and pairings with bourbons/whiskies.

OK here it is
  • How long have you been smoking cigars..............just over one year
  • Why did you start smoking cigars, what or who got you interested?.........so a friend came over to my house and told me he went to a local cigar lounge about once a week and I asked him to explain what cigars were all about and I was interested so started watching YouTube videos (how to cut/light and smoke)
  • What was the first cigar you smoked, and did you get sick?.......Acid Kuba Kuba didn't hurl !!!
  • How often do you smoke? ...........during winter about every two weeks but now that the weather is cooperating one to two a week
  • Where do you smoke most often? (a lounge, the car, your porch, etc.)....... I smoke outside
  • What flavor profile do you find you most enjoy?.......I have no idea
  • Tell me a little about how and what you smoke most often. Do you smoke premiums or bargain smokes? Chain-smoke Backwoods all day? Smoke a Padron Anniversary once a month?...........................Im still in exploration mode, I smoke premium NC's and was fortunate enough to find BOTL right after my first purchase.
  • so here is the story.Me and my oldest son (24) started this hobby together, the more I read about it the more I realized that this is part of the "art of manliness " and I had totally missed it. I found a local B&M about two hours away from my house and we went and bought 2) Acid Kuba Kuba;s and 2) Oliva series V and the cheapest cutter you have ever seen and a torch lighter(plastic and cheep also) came home and fired them up!!! first impression was mmmmm not bad but waited about three weeks to fire up the Oliva series V and they were UN- SMOKEABLE we had kept the Olivas in a plastic bag for almost three weeks (Humidification ?????) they were wet if you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose MABY you could smoke these:sick: then I found BOTL and the folks here put me on the straight and narrow for humidification and storage
  • What has been the best cigar you’ve smoked to date? I have no idea again. actually I just started noticing small flavor differences in cigars and enjoying them more.
  • Where do you get your cigars? (Online retailers, a local B&M, a friend, online forums, etc.) mostly online Famous and Small batch @Tyler86 Bombed me right off the bat and even sent me a note with the bomb on what he sent and liked and what to try out, it was really informative for a new guy. so recently I purchased a lot from @CigarGavin (That was a great deal by the way) and have been trying a lot of cigars I had never seen before thanks to him
  • What do you like most about smoking cigars? I like the slow pace of having a cigar with friends and family, it is a time for conversation and relaxing.

  1. I started smoking cigars about 16 years ago as quite a young lad, but only really fell in love with it again about two years ago.
  2. My grandfather smoked cigars (I wish I could remember what - they were probably fantastic), and I guess it stuck in my mind. I ended up randomly buying a couple for a wedding one time and never looked back.
  3. A genuinely can’t remember the brand - but it was a cheap Dominican machine rolled cigar. My first premium Cigar was a Montecristo Open Master.
  4. In good times, when the weather is nice and life is peaceful, one or two a day. In bad times, maybe one a week when I can find a chance to escape.
  5. Garden, porch, anywhere I can post up comfortably.
  6. I absolutely love the medium-full Nicaraguan cigars that are reviving the classic Cuban flavour profile. Pete Johnson does amazing work, particularly.
  7. I’ll smoke Tatuaje every day if I can, thanks to the fact there’s a line there for almost any moment. Cabaiguan in the morning, Fausto at night... I’ll smoke a Cojonu or a Reserva on ‘special occasions’. I might go to RoMa Craft if I’m having a BBQ, or an Illusione Epernay if I’m going to a fancy event where there’s likely to be champagne... all depends on the moment.
  8. Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles, with four years of age on it. It was like a super smooth Merlot, a little spice, an edge of sweetness... just outstanding.
  9. Genuinely wherever I can. Being based in the UK makes life difficult there for anything except Cubans - and I don’t smoke many Cubans anymore. I’ve ordered from the US, Hong Kong, Germany, Netherlands... as well as supporting my local B&M from time to time.
  10. 30 minutes to an hour and a half ago where I can switch my brain off almost entirely. Just focus on enjoying the cigar, maybe a glass of red wine, and relax.

  1. How long have you been smoking cigars? Brand spanking new. Just started this month.
  2. Why did you start smoking cigars, what or who got you interested? Been curious for awhile. Stayed away because of the "health" risks. Did some research and jumped in.
  3. What was the first cigar you smoked, and did you get sick? Arturo Fuente Gran Riserva. Did not get sick.
  4. How often do you smoke? 1-2 times a week so far.
  5. Where do you smoke most often? (a lounge, the car, your porch, etc.) Porch.
  6. What flavor profile do you find you most enjoy? Just started, I have no idea.
  7. Tell me a little about how and what you smoke most often. Do you smoke premiums or bargain smokes? Chain-smoke Backwoods all day? Smoke a Padron Anniversary once a month? No favorites yet, just started.
  8. What has been the best cigar you’ve smoked to date? Just smoked my 5th cigar this week. Can't really say I have a favorite yet. The 2 Perdomos I had were nice (Lot 23 Natural & 10th Ann Connecticut) and the Jericho Hill was nice as well.
  9. Where do you get your cigars? (Online retailers, a local B&M, a friend, online forums, etc.) I had a friend set me up with a sampler pack of cigars and a tupperdor. I have ordered from 2 online retailers so far. I also made a purchase at a local B&M.
  10. What do you like most about smoking cigars? The relaxation has been the best for me so far. The weather has been nice and to just sit on the porch and not have a care in the world for about an hour is awesome. Also, I have smoked online with my sponsor twice and I enjoyed that aspect as well.
