Am approaching my second year of home rolling and perseverance seems the be the most important characteristic needed to create enjoyable sticks for me.

That said I’m still trying to understand better some points in order to incorporate them in my rolling routine.

What is the most important step needed to have a firm cigar other than overfilling it? I bought some Don Pépin Blue and they are extremely firm to the touch yet they produce a ton of smoke, I have taken several manufacturer’s stick including some of mime and for the same weight, RG and humidity, the Pépin are very firm when you press on them but other are much softer when pressed. I was thinking the bunching method would be playing heavily on this but are there other factors?

I rarely let mine age at all. I was surprised by how firm they become if they sit at the right humidity for several months. I don't know exactly when it happens, but I pulled out a couple that had been out of sight for a year and they had hardened up considerably.

Here’s something to consider. Dry filler leaves will expand and wet binder and wrapper will shrink. I think that is part of the process. I’ve been able to do entubado or like that I should say and have been able wrap mine tight and still have a reasonable draw.
I do prefer a firm cigar in my mouth. (Insert dirty jokes here.. lol)

I think that's the key to it.

Yes. Consider marriage. Is that how we're spelling it? We hear about time to let the leaves marry. The flavors, the .. . think moister marriage. .. what the hell am I talking about? You may have heard my "firm/nice drawing cigar" learn? It was a Perdomo, it had what I needed. ended up with .. what to call it? moister marrying? proper drying? maybe we can come up with something. I like to use varied staged level time in accordance with instance. something I will not do is wrap to soon. (let the bunch get to a specific place) The whole lot is coming from wet to dry is my whole motive. I have to get it all to form. ..
I'm just going to ramble on maybe to much. it worked. It was the proper drying. firm, burn, draw and smoke. I will not talk about atmospheric condition induction.
