Had a little Makers 46 with a neighbor after preparing for landfall of Hurricane Salvation...I mean Isaias, or whatever dumbass way the news is making us pronounce it. We’re expecting some serious damage in my shore town. I live one block from the ocean and 6 blocks from the port, so it should be pretty interesting.

Followed up by a smidgen OF Rye

Stay safe brother!

We had our own hurricane scare last weekend so know the feeling.

Love this.

After our find and sampling of Country Ham, the wife suggested we go around and hit all of the small stores in town before our dinner date on Saturday to see if we can find any more batches we don’t have yet.
Excellent! That is my M.O. as well, those Mom & Pop shops don't sell a lot of $79 bourbons, so I've found Booker's sits on the shelf a long time at some of them. Still pretty easy to find most of the '18s and '19s around here, hope you have some great luck! (y)

@brianc636 Found a bottle from '16 in the wild yesterday at $79. I hit 8 or 9 stores in an area I hadn't hit before. Actually missed the store I got this at, and through a comedy of errors trying to get back to the route home, I ran smack into the store like it was meant to be.

Only other Booker's I saw was a store that had 2 of the new Boston Batch at $99. I passed at that price, I actually got the Boston I have cheaper than that shipped from a store in St Louis.

Since the new bottle is a backup, I opened the other one.

This gives me hope. I’ve hit one or two places over by my office in the last couple of days with no luck (not surprised based of type of clientele that would frequent these places) but I’m still hopeful!

Stopped in at a store on the way back from lunch and they had (2) bottles of country ham on the shelf. I passed on those since I just got a bottle of it but it’s good to know it’s still out there.

Keep looking, I've now found the '16 and several '17s the last few months, so they're out there. Still see a lot of all the '18s except BBQ Batch as well. You'll hit gold.

Anything in particular I need to be on the hunt for?

Or maybe, better to avoid...

Had a cigar with my neighbor last night. How lucky am I; move into a summer rental and my downstairs neighbor is a cigar and bourbon aficionado lol.

I supplied most of the whiskey, and he supplied the cigars. Started the night off a pour of Elijah Craig Small Batch

Then my neighbor pulled out a bottle of I.W. Harper Bourbon (never had before).

Then I went back upstairs and pulled out the big guns. I think I might’ve went too far, as this guy could not handle the 120 Proof KC Single Barrel, even with water. Oh well I was in a sharing mood. His girlfriend made the funniest sour face when she took a sip.

Things to grab immediately if you see them at retail or close:

Anything prior to 2018
Kentucky Chew 18-03
Beaten Biscuits 19-04
Granny's Batch 20-01
You already have Country Ham, or else I'd mention that too.

I am also a big fan of Teresa's Batch 19-01 along with @BourbonBinder ...but it appears we are in the vast minority according to all the bourbon groups I follow.

Avoid? I'd avoid Kitchen Table 18-04, and for me the jury is still out on Boston Batch 20-02.
