Recently exploring a few new cigars that I have not tried, and picked up on a few notes that stood out to me that I liked about them, and seeing if there were recommendations for others to try based on either the notes or regions (I am also still learning what regions I enjoy as I try new sticks. Also, sorry for the weird flavor descriptors, former wine consultant here and go off of weird scent memory things sometimes that sound strange.

Camacho Unleashed- Tried this for the first time a few days ago and noticed a weird taste of grain or corn that came through and got stronger that I enjoyed it, and an almost sweet aspect to it. Almost like corn chex or sweet corn.

Magic Toast- On the dry inhale as well as while burning, an almost dark fruit or plummy flavor comes through

Punch Maduro Clasico- Always a go to. Not sure what the flavors are here, but this is one of my regulars and I would love to find others similar.Mellow but sweet and full without being overpowering.

AJ Fernandez New World- Looking for similar here as well.

Avo classic No 3.- This is another go to, and there is a nutty flavor that grows and changes as the burn progresses. Not just a single note but almost like hazelnuts or walnuts, and it sounds strange but a nice taste almost like sawdust.

For the new world I would dive further into the AJ Fernandez line. Bella artes, enclave, and The T (if you can find it) all are fairly similar to the new world in my eyes. If you want to keep going down that road the new world road Padron would be a great journey as they have the same robust Nicaraguan flavors of the new world, but with a luxurious complexity and balance.

If you like the drier texture and flavor with grain and nut qualities I would suggest looking towards brands from Honduras. Brands like CLE, Eiroa, and Aladino may be to your liking. Just know that they take two or three months in the humidor to start really shining.

The darker fruit flavors and dried fruit flavors tend to come from Nicaraguan tobacco. There are a lot of Nicaraguan puros to choose from. You may want to start the Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Cask. That should get the dried fruit type of flavor with more exposure to AJ Fernandez's portfolio.

I would recommend keeping a journal.

This will give you more of a basis for comparison and enable you to judge your favorites better.

Buy a decent sized tupperware and an accurate hydrometer, for storage and ageing.

Avoid buying a humidor for a while, or you will be doing this twice.

Keep in mind the tupperware is a sealed environment, so you will need little if any humidification, and that adding new sticks to it can alter the % .

enjoy.......... :cigar: :cat::chicken:

Cornelius & Anthony Cornelius, Guardian of the Farm Rambo, and Cuban Vegas Robaina all give me some of that. Try looking for corojo and Equadorian Habano wrappers with milder or sweeter blends inside.

Way different cigar, but Fuente Anejos often have loads of that dark fruit. Cuban RASS is full of it too.

Fuente Hemingway natural are full of nutty flavor. Check out other cigars with Camaroon wrappers as well.
