With Vinyl all you'll need is a measuring tape, hammer, a miter saw/chop saw(preferably), and a block or something to help snap the pieces into place.
A chalk box also too help establish your straight-line of your walls.

I had mine redone 7ish years ago in the kitchen, the old peel and stick tiles were starting to lose adhesion around the corners. Used LVP and discovered a website, from local cigar lounge guy, that will save you a huge chunk on all the name branded material. I'll have to find what the site was though! I even called around local and their prices were all within msrp range. The installation looked easy, paid someone to peel off 4 layers of floor to the asbestos layer, was like going through time. I believe they just scored the boards to length when needed with a knife and they would just snap right in two, then interlock with the others.

I went through the same thing last year and ended up going with LVP throughout the main area, then tile in bathrooms and laundry. It’s held up great with dogs. I had the install done by https://emersonproservices.com/carrollton/ —solid crew, showed up on time, worked fast, and pricing was fair. If you're in the area, they might be worth checking out.
