VSG Bands

While we're on the subject of bands, does anyone know when Ashton changed the VSG band? I was told that the only release to have the Ashton Cabinet VSG band was the original release. Is that accurate?

Ashton began switching over to a modified VSG band in 2006 that eliminates the word Cabinet from the band, and makes the VSG moniker more prominent. The cigars are identical, this is just a branding change.

While in my local B&M the other day I noticed that all of the VSG boxes he had opened were still of the original band release......is there a difference in the cigars being round (Not Box Pressed) in the original release and box pressed in everything after that?

After reading some more on this Moki says"N.B.: Because of their age and rarity, VSG "Rounds" are rarely found at MSRP"

I need to find pictures of these and then go back to the B&M to see if they have any of them.

You don't really need pictures, but here are some:

All you gotta look for is if the cigar is completely round or not. If it has ANY box press on it, even a slight one, it's not a round. I've had a couple that were oh so slightly box pressed, but if you looked closely you could see it.

Great cigar and they weren't the same after the band change.....imho.
