BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I haven't been smoking long enough to give an accurate idea of the best cigar, but my 2 favorites so far are the Padron 1964 anni and the El Cen by Pepin. If you make it to my house on the 20th you can have either one. BUt I am way limited on supply so I'm holding all my premiums until then.
Of course I didn't look at what forum this was in so I listed 2 NCs. II guess that would explain the ambiguity of the thread title. If I had looked at the forum it would have been clear. Mental note: Pay attention idiot:hammersma

Do you mean regular production or special release? Do you mean cigars that are still in production or all cigars that have ever been made?
Those are important distinctions since they would have an impact on how I answer the question.

It changes all the time.....special occasions, special releases or gifts, etc. Right now it's a toss between a Cohiba Sig VI and enjoying a VR Farmie with my friend CWS!!

Ah ya big galoot ya. I have smoked too many cigars to chose one as the best. I agree with Mike, the best cigar(s) I have smoked have been the ones smoked with great friends that share my passion for cigars.
Disclaimer: The Farmie was pretty AWESOME and is waaaay up there.

As it stands today (keep in mind I am a relative Newbie) it is a toss up between the Ashton VSG Torpedo and Tatuaje Noella. However, I am rapidly developing a penchant for those from the Dark Side.

The "best" cigars I've had really aren't all that exotic.
That's not to say that I haven't had some spectacular, special cigars. No, it's just that more often than not, I get the most enjoyment from rather pedestrian cigars.
The PSD4 still rocks my world every time I smoke one, and it's pretty freakin' mainstream, ya know? Also the Monte2 still excites the hell outta me. Same goes with the Trini Fundadores. Heck, even the little Party Shorts blow my socks off every time.
Maybe that's because I don't as expect much out of those kinds of mainstream production cigars compared to, say, a special 10-year aged limited edition stick. Since my expectations aren't as high with those "everyday" sticks, they always overdeliver....and sometimes, the exotic sticks underdeliver compared to my expectations.

IMO, it's more than just the cigar. Sometimes it's a combination of things that just come together and help define a moment in time.
I've had an ordinary Fuente Hemingway turn a gathering of good friends and well made Mojitos into a truly memorable event. I had a similar experience while solitarily smoking an old Mayorga churchill in my backyard. The warm summer evening, cool iced tea and sounds of a little league game nearby just made the experience complete.

So far for me, no doubt a Tat Noella, so much flavor in such a little stick, I did smoke a few PSD4's and they were good, but one of them was just amazing. same for Monti2, I only had one that had some age on it and it was awesome, but so far< i have never had a CC with some decent age on them.
I do like the usual suspects, Anejos and Opus, but since I can't get any age on them, I don't bother all that much hunting them down. I rather get a few Padron 64's maddi, yumm
