I have read and heard a lot about the padron's. I went out to try a few a little over a week ago, and since had 5. A 2 2000's, 2 3000's, and one 6000 (torpedo?).
First.... All were fantastik smokes.
All five, had a very similar pre draw, aroma, and great looking construction.
I started off pleasantly surprised with the price point, even at the local shops in New York with our higher taxes, these sticks fall into a very affordable range, and after looking online at some box prices and such, it holds true I think.
All 5 sticks lit up perfectly, and I didnt have any burn issues or draw problems. Only one started to canoe slightly (granted the one I smoked while driving), but it managed to correct itself quickly and easily, without needing a lighter, just rotating, and puffing out the slower side.
My pallate is not so refined to talk about falvors, but these all had plenty of flavor, and it was even and consistant from start to finish, even towards the back nub of the cigar, it tasted and burnt just the same. Very well balanced.
I tried mixing coffee, and coke, and just water, and it mixed with all of them just fine. Maybe I slightly prefered the coffee to the coke, not sure why... just my impression after I guess.
I used my Xikar cutter and puncher on all of them, I think I prefered punching them, except the 6000 which you have to cut.
I ended up buying a stack of them, like 5 2000's and 5 3000's which were a few bucks a stick cheaper than the 6000.
I have to say all in all, I was very impressed with the Padron's I tried, none of which are the exclusive makes, but just the 000's, And the Padron's lived up to their reputation of quality, construction, consistancy... I can only wait as my pallate gets more refined, that I will be able to appreciat the full flavors i already enjoyed even more.
Here are a couple shots I took on my phone of a burning padron.
