  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So fellas, I have been dabbling in the Tatuaje brown label section lately and I gotta be honest, I enjoy the red labels MUCH better. I just put out my last brown one (cojonu 2006).To me it was all balls not much flavor. I would venture as far to say it even had flat taste.

I know its all subjective but come on man, I wasn't impressed with any of these ones. Does anyone else out there like the Red (Nic.) over the Brown (Miami) labels?

I like the Hav VI for the complexity and med/full flavor (some creaminess). I like the Brown for complexity and fullness. Both are outstanding cigars, but I'm in different moods for different ones at different times.

I really love the Red Tats, and I thought the East/West Red Tats were sublime...but I must admit that I prefer the extra punchiness that the Brown Tats deliver.

FYI if you like the Reds, you ought to at least give the Tat Whites a spin around the block. They're made "cuban sandwich" style, meaning they use both long and short fillers, but they're much cheaper and to me taste a lot like the Tat Reds.

I've been wanting to try them because of their price but i have always been suspicous of medium-filler cigars. I guess it can't hurt to try though can it? :smokingbo

Mixed filler cigars can be dicey, but the "cuban sandwich" style seems to offer a better burn and leaves far fewer nibbly bits in the mouth.

I've had good luck with the Tat Whites as well as the Holt's J.P.G. Fumadores, both of which are Pepin-manufactured "cuban sandwich" cigars from his Nicaraguan factory.

I like the reds better than the browns in general, but the cojonu 2006 is my favorite of the tatuaje line, followed by the verocus, the the regular reds, then whites, then browns. Haven't had the blacks yet.

IMHO the reds are slightly more complex and cubanesque. I used to like the browns better bought now enjoy the highs and lows of the red line.

I prefer the Havana VI's. (reds)

Of course, the BLACK makes the other labels seem almost amateur.

I cannot find any blacks here in western, Pa. and every place I call out of state is and has been sold out. Any one that is willing to sell and/or trade let me know. Please! I have not tried one and cannot comment on the blacks.

Also, what has been up with all the new, great,"limited" smokes being awesome and then gone forever. I love the east/west tats and I see them disapearing everywhere. Is there not enough awesome to go around? Are we just being toyed with by marketing torture? Both?

Rumor has it that the Tat West and East are done. Not being made anymore and there are limited boxes available. I have been looking to stock up on a few myself.

Well I think it's partly marketing. Also it's just that I think with some companies the tobacco for that specific blend is limited so they can only make so many then it's gone. All these great limited smokes from what I can tell is a mix of pure marketing and leaf availability. At least there is supposed to be 1,000 jars of blacks, some of the Fuente stuff I think is released in small numbers just to drive people crazy. Shit look at the diamond trade, if you control all the diamonds and the mines you can charge whatever you want for them! Spend $5K on a clear piece of carbon what a goddamn waste of money. At least if I bought $5k in cigars they'd make a cool looking red glow and then disappear into smoke.

From reading on newhavanacigars.com they got the last of the cigars as unbanded foil wrapped cabinets. So if you want one(I do) check them out. Ooh and all this talk about not being able get them later there is now 50 less Verocu No.2s out there. Damn you guys!

I like the Borwns over the reds execpt the Verocru and they are almost gone. Holts has the east coast and New Havava has both but unlabeled. I now have 2.5 cabs of the east and a cab of the west. I may get a few more east coast. Yep. I like em that much.

The Easts are my one of my favorites! I like them almost as much as the blacks.
