  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well as a few of you know I ordered a humi and a few sticks,well they call me up this morning and say they cannot proscess my order. I ask why? we do not have a verified age on you for that address.Excuse me?? They say that unless Im 21 years of age or older :scratchhe Im not allowed to order cigars i ask if thats their policy. They say nope its a state law in cali and they have to cancel my order. I try and rebuddle and tell them that the law to buy tobacco in this state along with all other states that I know of the legal age to buy tobacco is 18.:angryteet
At this point no one is listening to me so I gave up and asked if they had charged my card.they said no they have not, just varified that the funds are there. I check with visa and they say that the funds have been taken off the card and retrieving them will take a 6-9 weekdays...I love it when Im lied to!:angerFU: so now Ive got 4 orders from cigar bid+ a newbie sampler coming in with nowhere to store them and no money to buy storeage.

im sorry I just had to rant.

never going back to thompson!:angerFU::angerFU::angerFU:

Go to Walmart and get a Tupperware container big enough to hold the cigars and get a Boveda pack from your local cigar shop. This will hold you over till you can save enough to buy a humidor. Keep the Tupperdor in a darker cooler area of your home, basement if you have one and you'll be fine.

Consider yourself lucky. Buying cigars from Thompson's is a fate worse than death! They saved you from yourself. Never try that again. :nono:

Go with what Wade said, and get a tupperware. A cooler from Wal-Mart will also work.
And you're better off not getting anything from Thompson. They really suck!

they did the same to me.
But they kept having some guy from India calling me to ask for my verification.

I didn't know you had to be 21 to purchase in some states.

I think its just for online purchases in some states. I've seen it on alot of sites before but I just fib on my birth year and haven't had a problem.

Why would you give them your ssn? They never asked me for it, as a matter of fact, I don't know if any online vendor for anything ever has.

Many of us started with Thompsons then quickly moved on to better cigars. I agree. You were lucky.

Sounds like you are already dealing with them, you are lucky if you didnt have to smoke the crap sticks that may have come with your humi, if they were tompson "exclusives"...lol
