  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Speaking of Illusione cigars.....

Well here it is from Dion himself, he was replying to a post by another guy who had done some research and made some asuptions so Dion Cleared it up. To call Jesus an Illusion is just false. No one denies there was a man named Jesus who was born to Mary and Joseph, and who was crucified. I just don't understand why you would risk offending a large group of people, unless you were making a real stand against something. I guess he is.

Nice job! Here's the rundown -

You know, Dion is a member here...vudu9.

After thinking about it and reading some more of the posts, I don't think that this is appropriate.
I am not sure what you mean. He named the cigars, he had to know at some point people would wonder about it. So we are discussing it like adults with out ridiculing anyone. He is fully with in his American rights to do with his company as he pleases. He's a big boy, I'm sure he can stand behind his decisions and stand up to those who criticze him for them.

I read a bit on it now as well not too much though. I often question myself and end up coming back to my roots. 2012 is the end of one era and the begining of another. This could be polar reversal, not nessesarily the end of the world. I guess we'll see.

yeah, it's definitely NOT the end of the world, but the end of an "age " and a beginning of a new age. They refer to it as the "Golden Age" We'll be starting the morning of a new glactic day. We will have new minds and will approach life in a new way. We have 2 ways to approach the new life: with love and harmony or with hatred and war, basically. I choose love and harmony.

I got it figured out, all we have to do is build a time machine and wait until the last day of 2011 and see how it goes for Australia. If it goes bad for them we get in the time machine and haul ass back to 1999. Oh crap, what about Y2K?

i had a fantastic conversation with him at the ICPCR. we didn't discuss any of this.

unfortunately, an unnamed (fill in the blank) won't give me the recorded interview! i'm waiting for it to surface with his name on it!
While you were chatting it up with the big guy, I talked to mustache man for a little bit (sorry, forgot his name!). I had always wondered if the MK-Ultra referred to all those sweet mind control experiments that the CIA did back in the day. The code name for one of the projects was MK-Ultra. Turns out that's what it's named for, and that all of the cigars have a special meaning.

I perceive the names and everything not to be an attack on any religion, but more about conspiracy theory stuff. Somewhat of a "question authority" mindset. I think it's kinda cool. Damn good cigars tho, no matter what you think of the names.

Is it based on "dark" subject matter? I don't see any reference to witch craft or demonology. It's seems like a juvenile jab at Christianity or at Religion in general. And you can question organized religion as a whole all you want, these are your rights, but for Dion to come out and directly tell someone they believe in a fairytale is his right, but it is also rude. And it alienates a faily large number of people. We do however agree on the Tat for this evening's smoke.
Dark subject matter - I guess that could go either way - but I was reffering to the four horsemen, dark prince & mkultra (secret government mind control program), his repeated references to the 'end' (whatever he means) & his obvious fascination with Jim Jones, Alex Jones, etc..

No 'juvenile jab' intentionally coming from me (I'm trying my best to be objective here) - & I don't know what Dion is 'getting at' - I'll leave that up to him.

Fairytale? Seems like he's just repeating other people's tales. Who of us truly knows? I personally don't see this as being rude.

I'm really not being argumentative (ok - maybe a little)- this would be an excellent subject to discuss over a nice cigar sometime!
(Perhaps a CG4? I tell ya - every one I've tried is awesome!)

Conspiracies, 2012, secret gov programs, various religious prophecies - I just think that it's interesting stuff. All of which I choose to take with a 'grain of salt'...

Love & Peace!!!
(ps-no hairy hugs for me either:headroll:)

No worries Dude, I was reffering to Dion with most of what I said. I also just got finished with a PM convesation with him on the other site. Turns out he's a pretty cool guy. If you haven't read anyother threads on the topic, you can PM me for the link. I had a great time today discussing this topic, and to be honest Iam still not clear on all his reasoning, but he is not required to make sure everyone knows why he does what he does.

You'd think that if the Mayans were smart enough to figure out the day, month and year the world ends that they'd be smart enough to keep their civilization alive to witness it.

As for Dion, I give his religious mumblings the same attention as I do Metal Rocker's claim to Satan... total attention grabbing , sales increasing BS

He's not the first person i've heard that believes teh world will end in 2012. Do some research on the Mayan calendar...when does it end?!?!

But Dan at New Havana was right, Dion like to wrap himself up in mystery. Dan says he can never get a straight answer out of him.

Dude makes some seriously good cigars though.
Back when I played in punk rock bands, when ever we got interviewed, we always got asked the same questions - "how long have you...what's your next album....where do you see your self in the future..." Instead of answering the same questions the same way time and time again, we'd throw a bunch of tongue-in-cheek answers at the interviewer. This whole interview was pretty much tongue-in-cheek right down to the photos. I thought it would be much more interesting to throw in some curve-balls rather than say the same thing everybody else says when asked those questions. It's really funny how much people think they know about you after just reading one article! It would be like thinking Johny Depp runs around in a pirate suit and talks like Keith Richards all the time. Remember it's an "illusione."
