Well I do a large amount of reading on this site but not a lot of posts. So I thought I would post on the Macanudo 1968 is just got done enjoying. First this is a beautiful cigar, very nice wrapper. The cigar looked good enough to eat!. It smelled just as good. I sat out on the pourch clipped the end cap and lit up. It took to the flame great, started a nice ash very quickly. Right from the start I knew this was no ordinary Macanudo. I found that it has a nice pepper and chocolate flavor. I find the these work will together. The pepper did get a little strong in the middle but mellowed out. The ash was nice and white. I admit that Macanudos are not my normal smokes but this one was well worth the money. Hope this helps anyone that is considering this part of the Macanudo line.

This cigar is not a usual Mac. I would never have known it unless Frank had done a blind taste on me.

Great stick. Hard to believe it is a Macanudo. It is going to be tough to convince non mac smokers to pay 8 - 10 for a stick while normal mac smokers are not going to like its strength. WIll be interesting to see how this one does. I have smoke several now and really enjoy them.

I had two of them at the RTDA, nice smoke, very non Mac but one had a tough draw. We ordered them for the shop so I'll have a few more when they come in and hopefully the draw thing was an isolated incident.

I ordered the 9.95 deal and just received them today. I'll give them a try next week. They do have a great aroma and nice construction.

i went to an event in san diego today highlighting the new HdM Legend. the rep, trenton smith and i talked about the new macs. he said macanudo "really needed something to compete with the don pepins and the pete johnsons" regarding strength. He also stated they will not be available to online vendors, and only to a select few across the country, though i see ya'll buying them online :scratchhe

I smoked my first one of these this week, the robosto size. I am not a big fan. To me they seem very one dimensional. I could not descern any real flavors just tasted like smoke. I'll give the other two a try hopefully with some time they will come around.

I had one yesterday and it was kinda, just meh. I'll echo and also very one dimensional, I didn't care for it and actually just put it out. I did pick up the new HdM Excalibur, but I have a feeling it might be too mild.

Got an email from CVMcigars stating the 1968 is available at a starting price of $8.50- making the sampler a real "smoking" deal. :)

I tried one of these just today in the Churchill size. I thought it was quite a nice smoke, similar to a CAO Black VR I thought. I would rate it an 89 overall. It seemed to me to be a nice, deep rich smoke with lots of character, a little spice but not overpowering at all. Other than the direct promo price, these are a little spendy, so I will probably not make it a part of my regular rotation but they are sure enjoyable. Bravo to Macanudo for expanding their line.
