  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Interesting cigar. Has a tawny quality to it, after taste is a little leathery and burn is absolutely razor sharp.

Over all, it does remind me of a Padron 1964, but it's not sweet like the maduro and it's chewy like the natural.

I think that the #3 is a good cigar and am interested enough in the line to check out the rest of the range but I think that a good palma vitola (6.5 x 33) would go really well with this blend.

Call me crazy, but I am really disappointed by these cigars. I will give a few more a try, but have had about ten sticks now and just find them to be average.

I think this is a good cigar... but I have to admit that it doesn't live up to the hype.
I'm with uncelnino - I don't find this to be as good as people say - and frankly, they taste too similar to the Cabaiguan Maduro.

I'm not sayin they are bad at all - just that my expectations were higher than what delivered.

Ya'll know how it goes though - next month I might think this is the greatest thing in the world...

I've only smoked one, mind you, but it reminded me TOTALLY of the R J21s I've smoked (which I loved). Lots of Espresso! In fact, shortly after my first RJ21 I had a Doble Espresso that captivated me. I sat taking in the aroma for 15 minutes before I recognized where I knew the odor from; Reserva J21! That's it!

Anyways, smoking the Riqueza alluded much to me in relation to PJs previous blends. I thought it was a great smoke, just too similar for my preference.

Very unique deep flavors was what both cigars had. They SHARED the espresso flavor to me when retro-haling.

Retro-haling? Is that like metro-smoking?
jk - no really... what do you mean?

The J21 is one of my favs, & while I like the La Riqueza, I think it's a bit over-hyped.

I didn't notice any espresso-notes in it - I guess I'll have to smoke some more as soon as I can get some.

I can really taste what you were describing, but not the J21 reference. there is a very nice espresso almost turkish coffee taste to it, but some of the Pepin blends do come across as a charred wood taste sometimes, so the espresso is a nice improvement.
