  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So maybe this isn't news-worthy, but my local B&M (The Wharf in Dayton, OH) sells several varieties of Tatuaje cigars. I just noticed it today--they keep them on a top shelf.

Here's what I didn't know--there are apparently inexpensive Tats! The only ones I've seen are on here or CBid, and they're all uber-expensive. But this place had a Tat with a white label (sorry, don't know the name) that started around $5, and then a whole slew of the Havana VIs at varying prices. They also had some of the 'spensive ones: Miami (I think, though I didn't notice the price) and something I didn't recognize for like $19. He said the also had some "in the back" which sounded rather ominous.

Anyway, i know many of you Bros are nuts for these smokes, so I thought I'd let you know if you are ever in the area.

Heck yeah I really like the white lables. Here is a great online retailer that has a little more info if you would like.

http://www.newhavanacigars.com/Tatuaje_Series_P_Cigars_at_NewHavanaCigars_com_s/26.htm

Series P was created in 2006 and features four vitolas, all made in the "cuban sandwich" style using both long and medium fillers. Medium bodied, all Nicaraguan tobacco. It is made in Esteli Nicaragua at the Tabacalera Cubana factory. Also referred to as the "White Label", it is packed in boxes of 31, further transferring the value of this quality smoke. Some people say they are their 'every day' cigar. We believe every day is worthy of a great cigar, and this one more than fits the qualities of an every day or a special occasion smoke.

All sizes in nailed cabinet boxes of 31 cigars. Sealed with a distinct ribbon with foil bottom and wrapped in celo inside of the box to ensure safe tavel.

What's the name of the place or town?

I'm right over in the Lehigh Valley, PA.

It's in the Dayton area, technically Beavercreek, OH and called "The Wharf." It's the best B&M in town for selection and service, though not always for price. Sadly, they don't keep up their website (it has 2-year old announcements, lol).

The Series P is an adequate DPG smoke if you don't mind short/mixed filler cigars and if you let them sleep for a good year or more. FOTT, there are lots better $5 cigars out there, IMO.

I just gave em a call, as they're only bout 40 minutes away from me.

Yep, they carry a whole lineup of the whites, reds and browns. no Cojonu, verocu or reservas. As for the blacks, here's what they said

"We can't confirm how many we have elft, but what we do have is limited to one per customer and they go for 13.00 each."

Interesting if i do say so myself.

40 minutes? Man you ARE close to me.

Tomorrow (Thursday) The Wharf is having a CAO event that I'd like to check out (hoping to nap a freebie of something) as long as I can drop the baby off with somebody. I might pick up a Tat Black at that time, just to make sure I score one before they're gone.

I'm excited about the Tat selection, though. Like I said I've never seen a B&M carry them before, though I'm sure plenty do. Considering the scarcity of them the prices seem fair to me too. Blacks went for more than $13 each last I saw them on CBid.

Once I get more info, if there is something that people want me to buy for them, I'm happy to do that.

The Series P, or white band Tat, is a wonderful little smoke. Made with medium filler, the integrity of the structure is sometimes questionable- but this is one of my favorite little go-to's.

Any opinion on the best vitolas in the Series P?

Thanks!
