    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well I am sitting outside on a nice cool fall evening with a cup of hot coffee and a great cigar. The coffee is Pikes Place frome Starbucks and the cigar is a JDN Antano lancero.

I have found that over the last several months I have begun smoking more and more Lanceros. Now yes some of it might have started out as it is the new fad, but now it is more of Damn, that is a great cigar size to be smoking. I have several brands and all are better than other sizes of the same cigar. I know there is a whole issue on wrapper ratio and things like that. Also I am aware that it is different stroke for different folks.

So tell me your guys thought, great cigar size to smoke, or not really and why.

Lovin the lanceros more and more every day. The leaf jumps right out at ya. Though there are quite a bit of the other greats that I would not kick to the curb for a lancero. I like the robusto sizes quite a bit and the petit's based on the time I have to really enjoy a stick. I go through petits like candy because I can burn them in between meetings.

I really enjoy the lancero, when I have the time. I like slightly smaller ring gauges, 48 and lower, and the length gives me the hour plus smoking time when I need it. I have plenty of churchill's and a few A's but that is just too much cigar for me. The first one I had was the Serie V from Oliva right when it came out. And since then have smoked probably 15 different Lanceros, 1932, Holy Lance, Davidoff, Pepin Blue and Black, and several Cuban of that size, though I'm not sure the technical name is lancero.

Last night I smoked the Padilla Miami Lance and just loved it. I usually go for the corona, robusto, and especially perfecto and figuardo sizes, but when I have the hour plus, I reach for a lance.

Oh yeah and I just got a Monte #1 from a fine brother here. I'll be smoking that one Friday night in Big Bear. Maybe I'll make a Lancero Weekend of it. MMMM 1996 Partagas Serie Connaisseur No.1
Yep gonna be a good weekend.

I have to agree, the petit is my most fav. size due to the fact I don't have much time for anything larger than that. I just have really fallen out of favor with the big Toro sized cigars, or churchhills, or even the big 6 X 60's that are so popular now. Although for a big cigar I love those new NUB cigars, those are great. but they still take almost an hour to smoke.

I have found I like the Lance size, I wish I could still find a supply of Padilla Miami lances. Those guys were great smokes.

Not really a fad, that's where all the flavor is at, atleast with cuban cigars. It just seems more dense with a smaller ring gauge cigar.

Now, I define a fad as all of these 50+rg cigars that are on the market.

Oh yea, I have a lot in the humi resting some, I have about 20-30 as of now and I like them a lot. But given the time to smoke them, it is starting to get cold in New England so most of mine will rest till spring.
