  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Haven't tried it myself, but I've seen fairly negative posts on other cigar boards. :hanghead:

I've yet to try these, yet I'm not in a rush since I haven't heard so many decent reviews...I'll be checking this thread to see if ye change me mind.

Are the Legend the same as the normal Excalibur? I just bought librabry edition of the Excalibur from JR and they are a decent cigar. for the $2 a pices I paid I am really happy with them.

No, it is not the same cigar. The excalibur line has been out for some time, but the excalibur legend is a new edition released this year. The librar edition means that you get the nifty book shaped box.

As for the regular excalibur line, i would be happy with bucks a piece as well.

Bloody good review! I believe I'll try 'em out when I can. By the way, can we already know what ye think of them, Dave?

I bought a 3-pack sampler box....I thought they started well, but then developed a sharp ASSY flavor. It was gawdawful.

I ended up giving the remaining two sticks away.

Well the ones i bought were not the Legend line. They were just the regular excalibur line. I like them, for a medium to full bodied smoke. Good burn, and smoke, flavors were fine, and for $47 a box at Jr for the library edition seemd like a good deal to me.

I thought the way you described it was pretty funny, but I just got about 1/2 way through and I know exactly what you mean. :barf:
I dont know what it is..

I actually liked the original, when I started smoking about 2 years ago but this is.. different. Thats for sure.

Great review jwintosh but with all due respect i totally disagree. I thought this smoke was totally one dimensional, overly salty, and had no redeeming qualities that would make me smoke one again. Much like Electric Sheep, i definitely would put this one in the ASSY category. I also got the three pack sampler and to go by my three cigar rule (never give a final ruling until i have smoked three) i will finish the sampler after letting it rest for a while, but I can't imagine this getting much better with age. I was very disappointed because i really enjoy the HDM Excalibur line.

Salty! Just the word I was looking for. I thought I was going nuts. They taste like they were dipped in saline water.

Yup, I agree completely....salty is a perfect description.

Well, maybe not quite as perfect as ASSY, but it's certainly more accurate.

I was just looking at that OPUS sale. I am acctually more tempted by the 2003 Torano 1916s that are there. But i don't think 5 yrs of age should add $120 to the price of an $83 box of Toranos. Still tempting because i do love the 1916.
