  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Do you think there would be any adverse affects from writing on the cello with a sharpie? The only issue I can think of would be the smell which should go away when it's dry. Let me know what you think.

I put the year on Opus cello, but I put it on the bottom on that little extra that folds over, I would not write on the part that is touching the cigar, if cello lets air through it seems like the ink could seep through. But I have never tried it.

I use stickers. I bought address labels at an office supply store and download the software template to print on them. I like it. Nice clean look plus you can put a lot of info on it. Just my .02.

I also use stickers (actually i just bought a label maker) and i put where i got the stick and the date and sometimes the name, origin, dimensions, etc. I would be afraid to use a Sharpie on cello knowing that it is very permeable. I am actually a little surprised that no one has had issue with this...although I certainly don't claim to be a cello, or cigar for that matter, expert.

Been writing on mine for years. No adverse effects.

I write the date purchased on everything, and the name on those without bands, or have bands that don't series have the name on them.

I took the cello off, wrote on it, let it dry for a few minutes and then put it back on. I think that is the best way to do it.

Stickers with a simple ballpoint does it for me. Not that I have too many sticks with cello.
