  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What % of your purchases are through a B&M vs. through the Internet

Just interested...with MA tobacco tax as high as it it, the internet is an attractive option, but I like supporting my local B&M - good guys, they treat me right, and it winds up being a kind of "clubhouse" for the boys.

How are your purchases balanced?

90/10...net to B&M....my local B&Ms are good, but the prices are reflecting the economy....not like some of these sites that give away boxes with purchases and throw in samplers...C-Bid, and some of our sponsors! cant beat that!

probabally 80/20 BOTL and E-tailers to B&M the prices are too high, i think beacuse they get alot of tourist impulse buyers who dont care what they spend

I support local B&M's. The internet does not offer the personal touch and MI has cracked down in the past of internet sales buyers with back tax; I would rather sleep at night.

So I would say 90/10 B&M

Wish it were different but online gets 90% while B&M's get 10%. B&M's deserve more business obviously but with economics being what it is and esp. in a tight market you go where you get the best deal. Gives us pause as to why Walmart is so successful,,like them or not.

I'd say 75/25....I try to get at least 1-2 sticks but I'm there almost everyday to smoke, and I'd say they give me more in drinks to offset my cigar cost. I still get the majority of my sticks from online the deals can't be beat from what I've seen in va bch.

99.8% internet for me. MUCH cheaper price and no tax. I'll only buy from my B&M if it's something I can't find online but must have now, or if I'm going to smoke while I'm there.

Speaking of B/M's.. I think I'm gunna get a locker at mine. they lowered prices to $300 a year and you have to buy a box quarterly.

That's actually somewhat reasonable for OC.

I agree, great price, but that's $300 I could spend on smokes.

And I would have to spend my $300 online. I know, I know...but the Tax is crazy, a $12 stick anywhere else is $18-20 here. forget that. I'll take my chances with back tax. The E-tailers are all run by real people too and are local to someone, most of them have a B7M too. So what if we order from say Cigar King in AZ. They are just a hometown B&M with a website.

Very true, Dave.

I'm sure once my man-cave is completed (God knows when..) I'll be spending much less time at my BM, since I'll have my own.

I'm here for less than a year or I'd check my local for prices, I know they rent space in their humidor.

Whenever we get to wherever we're being sent next (Air Force) I'll try to find a good place. That will allow me to keep a bunch of sticks somewhere else to age, and more importantly keep less here at home--if my wife fully investigated the stash i have here right now, she would have a few choice words for me. For the next month or so I can still blame it on the http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=22190&highlight=christmas but that excuse will end soon, lol.

90% local b&m and about 10% interenet. I use the internet for stuff I cannot get locally, otherwise I like to give my money to my local.

Wade,
Just curious is your B&M owner getting by or livin large. I buy 90/10 Internet/B&M and the ten is because im a city employee so some of the tax goes to pay somebody.
