So I have a decent sized basement with 3 rooms. The main room is 380sqft. and the 2 other rooms are 196sqft. & the walk in is 48sq.ft

So the scenario is this:
The first room of the main is the our office space. My wife wanted me to get it all cleaned up so it was more "friendly" for her to come down without seeing all the misc. clutter & storage bins. She said that if I got it organized to her standards I can get a urinal installed down in the basement office.

Am I the only one that thinks that's cool?

You have an awesoe wife who is meeting you halfway.

Why are you reading this? Get to cleaning!!

Ease of urination should be a man right.

Sorry, before I voted I did not know you had more rooms down stairs. I would put on in if there was not a bathroom across the hall from mine.

How can this vote even be as close as it is.

That is nuts.

A man NEEDS this, he deserves it. It is so little to ask for.

Built well, which I am sure Rob will do, it will not even be tacky, just awesome.

Really awesome!

I figure it would kill 2 birds with one stone since most of the adult socializing takes place down in the basement...after a couple of drinks a guy is ready for the head...and it'll keep the money game rolling if the men don't get distracted by their ladies upstairs on Saturday nights.

I was trying to get my buddy to put one into his office/mancave but his wife squashed the idea, he's so whipped:innocent: Can you get a urinal? What I mean is can they be installed in homes since they are not industrial or whatever? You can get some cool urinal cakes and all that and for fancy occassions you can put ice in it to keep the stench low. I vote yes to the urinal!

There isn't any restrictions that I am aware of. The wife said I can get one since we already have plumbing in the basement; there is a sink (no, I have not used it as a toilet) so the plumbing is there and the sewer line runs down the wall next to it.

One the plus side, the urinal uses less water to flush than a standard toilet. I am trying to get a salvaged urinal from the city (go green & recycle) so there are good arguments to having one. Besides, if I where looking to get a new house and there was a urinal in the basement I think it would score extra points for me...a guy!

Don't know how this rates, but my man cave is my covered porch to my back yard, I've got nearly three dozen urinals right out the door, pick any bush you like.

I'd say toilet, after all you don't want the men getting distracted by the ladies when they venture upstairs...but the urinal would be cool!!! I'd go with which ever would be most cost effective/practical... my .02
