We should have a list of brothers that are curently unemployed. Lately it seems like alot of us are and I think if we had a list of who was we could target them for bombings, encourage each other, and maybe even help each other find new jobs. I understand some guys may not want to let everyone know that they lost their job but I think we could all use the support.

I'll be the first to start. I'm unemployed. I moved from Oregon to L.A. to try to expand my music career but I couldn't have picked a much worse time. I've abandoned looking for music related work and am now looking for anything. If you've lost your job I feel your pain. Please let me know if I can help.

Put me on the list.

Fired under very bogus pretences...after 4 years, nearly to the day, they said i "just didnt' fit it." A week later they re-hired the guy that quit 4 years earlier that i replaced.

Project manager, construction or environmental remediation. Willing to relocate.

Laid off and loving every minute of it. Going to Ca. for work. 2-3 month job, then after that who knows. Life goes on. Live life like the mystery it is intended to be.

This is an AWESOME idea. Both sides of the fence. If you have soemthing post it up. If you have skills, let people know. If anyone needs help with their resume I have a lot of experience in helping people build what employers ar elooking for. It takes some time and will require some work but I would be happy to help.

I'm looking for a job out of state...maybe moving to bourbon, mo after the first of the year. My shop keeps cutting back hours. Right now, the way things are going I'll loose the house in about 3 months if I can't find a new gig.

As for me, I'm looking in the world of Banking and Finance. I have a couple leads on some banks in the area that made their money off of margins in lending/saving and didn't mess with the derivative stuff.

I'm working and in the South Florida area. We have lay off's anounced and i expect to hear about them over the next month. I should be safe, I'm the only bussiness forecaster they have and developed quite a few programs that can't run without me. But, I'm still crossing my fingers.

I did until April this year. They let me go for dumb reasons that were not exactly on the up & up.

The shop that I am at now could go either way. It could pick up really soon or completely fold.

Most of the guys have left for other shops and I'm one of 3 pressmen left. If I stick it out and hope that things turn around it could be really beneficial later on, but it's hard to stick with something that just barely pays the bills. If I were to drop any lower in hours, i would have to give up the dream of the urinal & the house but for the time being I got to keep hope afloat and plan like there is going to be a better tomorrow

My department is hiring good people. especially those with military experience. It is a safe line of work to be in during this economy.

Here is a link to the job opportunities on the dept website.

http://www.lasd.org/recruitment/index-sworn.html There are also custody assistant positions, medical positions and civilian jobs which could even entail management spots, if you don't want to deal with guns, force and the craziness of the field. LMK if I can help!

Make sure to chcek out the job opportunities button too. Lot's of great jobs.

But, never loose the faith.

I am sorry to hear about so many folks in the same boat. I've been out of work since late October and it sucks. I'm a Sr. Software Architect and Engineer, with most development experience in Java, though Enterprise Architecture is language agnostic. With all of the people out of work, this reminds me of 2000 where companies wanted senior level people for mid-level pay. I'm hopeful some leads will be panning out soon. I hope things break loose in Jan with new budgets.

Wow Rob, I thought you worked for Reebok still too. I guess the indy in indyrob won't be the same if you live in MO. Hope things pick up for ya man.

As for me, I work for an auto dealership....so things are day to day. Let's just all hope things pick up for everyone real soon.

My wife was laid off in March and has not been employed since. This was her third layoff in 4 years. So, she decided to change careers and move from A/P into Medical Insurance Billing. This has made our finances very tight this year as most of her unemployment payments have been going to fund her schooling. Hopefully it will pay off next summer after she graduates.

My company (Japan based) is also on the razors' edge, but has not any layoffs. Hopefully it can maintain this record for at least the next 9 months.

Well you can add me to the list of unemployed. I have been out of consistent work since August unfortunately. I have degrees in Corporate Finance and Risk Management with experience in both plus Construction Management...

Keeping my head up, hoping for the best...
