What is a Bomb?

So I have a question...what exactly is a bomb? Is it the same thing a a missile? How does it work? Are there any rules?

Someone more experienced than I can probably give you a more complete answer, but a "bomb" is simply a gift to another brother of the leaf - typically consisting of cigars (but which many include other cigar-related items).

For me, the fun of "bombing" is in acquiring the addresses of folks that you like/admire here and surprising them from time to time, together with all the "tough-guy" talk that the entire process usually occasions. It's like a fraternity with a lot of friendly ribbing...

The one real thing to know about bombs, though, is the obvious, which is "don't do the crime if you can't do the time." In other words, payback around here is usually pretty quick and usually pretty harsh.

While you might have a ball of a time bombing the brotherhood, the spousal unit and your postal worker probably won't find all this as amusing... :grin:

A bomb is the gift of cigars without the expectation of anything in return. It is the sharing of the leaf. Maybe something you have tried and want others to try. Maybe something that you know someone has never tried or may not be able to try. The main thing is that it is a gift.

I consider it a pay it forward. People of all walks of life have gifted me with cigars to try. If I do the same to others, the gift of a good cigar expereince lives on. Pay back or retaliation as it is some times called really has no place in this expereince as for me then it becomes a trade. Trades are also a lot of fun but a gift is something special.

As Angry Bill put it so well, it is "Sharing the share".

To be clear, I wholly agree with this sentiment and should have been clearer in my post. If your sole purpose in bombing someone is to set yourself up for return fire, then I think you are missing the point of the bomb (at least as it used in this community).

I always use DC#'s as I ship from my computer at home. Simple:

1) Pick target to send to
2) Attain addy
3) Box up the bomb (not always cigars, some send other trinkets as well)
4) Address the box and pay for shipping
5) Drop off at your local courier
***OPTIONAL***
6) Make a post that "someones" in for it
7) Make a post that "insert screen name here" is in for it
8) Make a post with amusing clues as to who's gonna be in for it
7) Make a post with DC# if you choose, or don't, your call
8) Sit back and wait for the fireworks.
